Cuts and Free Agents

I should know this, but I don't. Do cuts take place before FAs are signed during a spin?

The reason this is important to me is that I took over a team in Fake Pigskin that has cap issues. I need to clear some cap and re-neg some contracts before I can sign anyone. I'm hoping that the cuts and the re-neg contracts happen first so that I can clear the cap needed to sign 13 players.

salary cap and player limits is only enforced on game stages (except the 60 player limit for TC), and all cuts/renegotiations that you make take place before the AI cuts anyone to force you into compliance

edit: this comes from a post i read by JDB just can't remember off-hand where i saw the post

Thanks! I couldn't remember the order of events, and I was concerned I'd end up with 40 players on my roster for game 1.

also if the AI is forced to cut your players to make you compliant with the salary cap it starts with your highest paid player and works its way down so you would probably end up losing all your best players

I'm not sure how good this team is going to be anyway. We have some good players, but I'm not sure which game plan is going to work yet.

just took a quick look at your team i'd go with a short yardage offense, you've got a good RB with an okay OL, would probably go with griffin for QB right now since he has a much faster release and about the same accuracy, and you have some great WRs but only for short to medium range long range they will **** great acceleration on them but low top speed good hands and route

I was thinking something similar, but I haven't put together a Power I offense since I've gotten used to the spread.

don't overlook your TEs either you have a couple pretty decent ones and if you go with a short offense then they can be a lifesaver :) i use 2TE sets a lot in 66 and even with over 1/2 my team either being rookies or 2nd years i'm still 4-4 right now so i'm happy with it

my receivers ranked by yards are:
1 - WR 47 receptions, 762 yards, 5 TDs, 16.2 ypc, longest 44 yards
2 - WR 32 receptions, 457 yards, 8 TDs, 14.3 ypc, longest 29 yards
3 - TE 24 receptions, 299 yards, 2 TDs, 12.5 ypc, longest 73 yards
4 - TE 11 receptions, 234 yards, 2 TDs, 21.3 ypc, longest 59 yards
5 - TE 6 receptions, 193 yards, 1 TD, 32.2 ypc, longest 88 yards

I'm actually cutting all of them except the 90+ TE. Remember I use a crazy set of weights.
