Make "Field Vision" actually matter for QBs.

I know I'm not the only one who has this problem. . and I know it's probably been complained about many times, or posted somewhere in this suggestion forum. .

Wide-open receivers are missed too much, or the QB locks onto a target too long (P.S. . not sure how Looking Off Def. rating means much when the QB just stares down a single receiver... but I'd rather fight that battle later.) Also seems if a QB has higher vision, he would get through his progressions quicker. . the current code just seems illogical when it comes to the players performance in this aspect matching their rating.

In the middle of watching one of my games that just simmed and here's a perfect example. My 5th year QB, Mark Sterling, is a **** good QB (http://mfn26.myfootballnow.com/player/2664.)

We had the #1 pass offense last season, and I would assume based on his stats that he's led the league over the last 2 full seasons in both yards and pass TDs due to an extremely pass happy offense.

I came across this play in my game - http://mfn26.myfootballnow.com/watch/1185#216805 . . frustrating right?!?

The defense sends 7 guys after the QB, leaving 4 in coverage. . we didn't do much blocking on the play lol and a defender comes free immediately off the right side. My QB avoids the pressure, looks to his 2nd read and misses the WIDE open receiver who was clearly right in his line of sight.

As a QB, when the defense sends a heavy blitz or your under immediately pressure, you're taught to check the ball down or go to your hot read, with both WRs running deep routes, the TE running the Out route was clearly the hot read. Even if the TE was covered, the ball should've went there due to the quick pressure. .

The ratings for QBs don't seem to matter much. Whether the QB is 65 or 95, it's hard to tell by watching the games.

It's pretty much just a random "dice roll" each play.

That's why I have yet to pick a QB in the draft rounds 1 and 2 ... LOL. Ive stayed in that 65-70 range in a couple of leagues and get just as far as some that I've inherited an 85+ QB!

Hi JChicago,

I`m going to disagree with you here on the play you highlighted.

It looked to me like a Med Pass was called in the huddle.
The QB is forced out under pressure, checks down from his main target to his next target running a MP Route and throws to him.....incomplete.

Thats how I understand the game to work right now (Maybe I`m wrong..... JDB?)

It would be great in the future for your QB to be able to check down ALL available recievers running all different routes.

I'm still trying to figure out where you disagreed with me at..

And even if the passing code did work that way, a wide open receiver, clearly in the field of vision should trump any pre-determined or programmed read. That's the way football works.

This sim is better than any other football sim I've played online, but I've seen other sims where the QB AI is superior, and a-lot more REAL.

and if that isn't the goal... then what are we all really doing here?!?

The play called was I-Formation Normal TE Out, a deep pass play in our play book.

Lol the play is designed for the TE, he's wide open, and doesn't get looked at.

1-10-CHI 23 (14:56) 12-Mark Sterling pass incomplete, intended for 82-Carl Short. Pass knocked down by 45-Robert Napier.
Offensive Play: I Formation Normal TE Out
Defensive Play: 46 Heavy 1 Deep SS MLB Blitz - Pass Key

If every player was as PERFECT AND GREAT as everyone THINKS they should be, we would have NO LOSERS!!

NOTE: There are none! Even in real life!

How would that be better?? We would ALL be 0-0-16, right?
Getting a little ridiculous, is it not??

Think the point is we are not after picture perfect, just a bit of realism. If a player is THAT wide open, even Stevie Wonder would have found him
