Stat requests

This thread is to list stats that you'd like to see added. There have been lots of suggestions scattered throughout the forums, but for an easier time compiling them please (re)post them here. I'll probably have as part of the next iteration of the game engine (not this one coming up because I want to get it released, but the one after that) some time fine tuning and adding stats.

QB hurries
Catch % for both offensive players and defensive backs allowed
Team stats in total yards rather than avg per gm only

I'll add more but off the top of head I would love these

1. Proper FG Stats. Ranges in Stats are Hard Ranges, when I look at FGs 30-39, I ONLY want the FGs from 30-39.

As it stands, when I look at FG Stats the different Ranges add up to MORE than the Total FGs, because your 50+ in included in ALL Ranges, your 40+ are included in all Shorter Ranges, etc.

2. QB Pressures. This is a HUGE stat, and while I know I've given up Big TD Passes on Pressures, generally Pressures result in poor throws and easier to defend plays. This will also increase the value of Slower Defenders who can't always close for the Sack but may well make a ton of Impact Plays.

3. Defensive Passer Rating. This is a wonderful stat that would help determine Player Weights in the Secondary more.

4. Catch Percentage. It's good to know how Consistent a WR is (and TE).

5. Yards After Catch. Great 'combination' stat that shows (1) the ability of a Receiver to have separation (2) break tackles or use the field to gain extra yardage and (3) the ability of a QB to place a ball properly to give YAC.

6. Yards After Contact. Speed Backs rule, but it would be nice to see who makes the most of absorbing the hit to rack up extra Yards. Especially for Short Yardage and Goal Line Backs.

7. Blocking. A 'Success Rate' would be nice. Did he successfully Engage? Did he hold the Engage? Some measure (like a 3 Second Rule, since the old adage in the NFL is a QB has 3 Seconds to get rid of the football) could be used. Also, Pancake or Impact Blocks would be sweet if they exist in the game. 'Disabling' a Defender with a huge block can be very beneficial.

That's about all I have, a lot of these were also ideas from other Owners on the Site.

I would love to see a rework of the team stats on the league page. In the drop down menu you could have passing, rushing, special teams, and misc. When you choose passing, you get all the stats on one page that are currently each their own choice in the menu. This would show only offensive stats, then there could be a toggle for "stats against" to evaluate your defense in the same way. would be neater and save time I think.

Passing- passes completed over 20 yards (in the air only)

Rushing-broken tackles, Yards after broken tackle

Receiving - broken tackles, Yards after broken tackle, Yards after the catch

Returns- KR- touchbacks, BT/Yrds, PR- fair catches , BT/Yrds

Kick/punting- kicker- onside kicks/recovery, punter-punts inside the 5, fair catches, touchbacks

Defense - Solo tackles /assisted tackles, Tackle for loss, Hurries or Pressures, Yards receded by the defender in coverage , and sacks are tackles too!

Misc- Definitely some form of run blocking grade. Perhaps blown blocks that resulted in a loss.

it would be nice to have what position the player played throughout the season. A list of all the postions the player played and which one he took the snap at. Like he played 586 snaps 345 were at WLB 96 were at RDE, and 45 were as a gunner on Special teams.

Also, ratings like in a pregame matchup. Based off a generic scale, but allow you to see teams strengths at glance. Overall grade that is a composite of teams players but by position group. Kinda of like a matchup card perhaps having some team leaders / team rankings, or key injuries on it, but also these grades to scout an opponent strengths and weaknesses quickly. Perhaps place it on upcoming game section below the one that has the box scores, log and watch, but similar in icon form just beyond the upcoming game/opponent.

Make all the league-wide team and player stats downloadable for those of us that want to obsessively crunch the numbers.

Ya obviously I know that but I'd rather not have to do that for every stat when it can be coded to have it already
