since this just cost me a game that cost me my shot at the division title i'm asking how it happens

my player
https://mfn67.myfootballnow.com/player/1571
312 pound LT with:
23 speed
74 accelleration
81 str
91 pass block

opposing player
https://mfn67.myfootballnow.com/player/1518
250 pound RDE with:
100 speed
50 accelleration
95 str
57 pass rush

how in the world did i give up 8 sacks and 8 pressures (6 of which caused incompletes) on this matchup alone???????????

And this here is why so many of us feel like offensive linemen barely matter.

There are many factors that go into those sacks though, so just looking at the individual matchup can be misleading.

Some of this is being addressed in the next version of the engine.

One word: Speed

Since this is the first year of the league, your OL doesn't know the plays, which is stupid by itself. Since he doesn't know the plays, he also can't read the defense, which is also stupid. So the DE 100 speed is the trump card.

The DE is just as handicapped on the play knowledge, this is a symptom of the last engine update that ultimately gave the DL too much power. Trust me, it is being addressed in the next version.

Play knowledge, since it's gained at a ridiculously slow rate for all defensive players, is never a factor for the defense anyway. On the other hand, low play knowledge absolutely destroys offensive consistency. I don't know if it was meant to be this way or if this is byproduct of other things.

I don't think people rate intelligence enough, not only is it all about learning plays, its also about how to play on the field.
I had a LB with something like 12 in tackling but 100 in intelligence and was a leading tackler for seasons.
I feel your frustration though.

I only explicitly weight it for a few positions, but I definitely pay attention to it. The problem is even with a team of players that all have 100 intelligence, it takes your team running an offensive play several hundred times before they even get to halfway on the play knowledge scale. For defenders, the number of times running and scouting the play is more like several thousand times to get to a quarter of the way there.

Is that factual or speculation?
