Gameplan don't follow instructions

Gameplan don't follow instructions of percentages for the different play types.

3. I haven't counted but it seem SHORT (=runs or short passes) are called very much more often at LONG and MEDIUM 2nd and 3rd down, than I have put the Gameplan too (=All three settings are down at the bottom.) Or doesn't the system count 3rd and 12
or 2nd and 25 as long? :)

If your getting plays called outside of you game plan that is a bug . Recently , I have only seen this caused by using zeros in the game plan and high settings in the slow down section.
Then I better make a topic of this in the Bug secttion

which I have done now :)

My settings for the three short plays ar at bottom or very close to bottom. (Not for all my teams but at them I react at :)
I suspected soon after I started playing, to many become short type plays. Back then I had 5-10 at slow down. Later I have in SOME of my teams up to 35 as most.

But UNDEPENDING of that, it's something wrong when it become many percent short play types, when all three of short plays are at or very close to the bottom...

(Some before I started checking more proper, I even got all THREE in line downs playing SAME - failing :) - inside run when it was 10 or more yards left to go. But I don't remember how low I had the setings back then.)

There are more such matches before I wrote that.
Here is an example from today:
https://mfn27.myfootballnow.com/watch/5906#1042111
Around eight short plays at 3rd, when needing long/medium to get the needed yards, are much more than the few percent I had put in the gameplan...

What is your setting for slow down mode?

2-21-IND 3 (15:00) 35-Ryan Parker ran to IND 5 for 2 yards. Tackle by 59-David Buchanan.
Offensive Play: Singleback Big HB Pitch Weak
Defensive Play: 4-3 Under Crash Left - Run Key
3-19-IND 5 (14:24) 35-Ryan Parker ran to IND 7 for 1 yards. Tackle by 91-Gary Shelton.
Offensive Play: Singleback Big HB Pitch Weak
Defensive Play: 4-3 Normal Cover 2 MLB Blitz

I think These plays were triggered due to your 30-3 lead early in the 4th. Same goes for the next set of downs even though the ranges were medium to short. Any run in that chosen set will override the passes due to the slow down logic. The opposite effect is seen with the hurry up setting .

A setting of zero there should avoid these calls outside of your game plan in this game. If that doesn't work I am not sure.

35 in the last example. But I have seen such effects earlier too back when I had 5-10.

Possible.
BUT it started earlier with a short play at a 3rd with 18 yards left.

And undepending of if it was triggered by that, there is such problems in other matches too :)

Realy?? I have understood it as OPPOSITE to that :)
because if the 1st down get a SHORTER than average value, then the following get shorter to, even WORSE with a LOW value, because geting LESS change then. Or have I missunderstood that?

Why having GP Distance Adjustment Speed at all??? It screw up logic :)

(I write about it in an other topic, suggest to skip it or make it OPPOSITE to what it is now :) =If 1st is shorter than average, then make the later LONGER than average to try to catch up the earlier lower.)

I am not sure if this part is understood or you are of aware of yet.

I saw a 3rd down and 18 pass to the RB but it looks as all your runs prior to the 4th were only on first and second down. There are three settings for the offense that change play call outcomes. This particular effect of running out of the game plan is from the slow down mode not the game play distance adjustment speed.

1. GP Distance Adjustment Speed
Each play adjusts your offensive short/medium/long ranges. A low value here causes this adjustment to occur slowly, a high value causes it to change quickly. Recommended values are between 5 and 10.

2. Hurry Up - Min remaining per score
In the 4th quarter, switch to the hurry up offense if you are down. A value of 3 will start hurry up at 3 minutes if down by 7. Hurry-up will call only pass plays and will always onside kick.In the 4th quarter, switch to the hurry up offense if you are down. Hurry up offense means you will allow as little time between plays as possible, you will go for it on fourth down unless you are too far behind and/or too deep in your own territory, and you will kick onside kicks. You will pass the ball unless you are close enough to a score that you will let the clock run to prevent your opponent from having plenty of time to counter a score. A value of 3 will start hurry up at 3 minutes if down by 1 through 7 points, and 6 minutes if down by 8 through 14, etc. Recommended values are 2-4.

3. Slow Down - Min remaining per score
Same as hurry up, except this switches you to clock-draining mode. You will rarely pass the ball and will take as much time between snaps as possible. This is calculated on each play, so if your opponent scores and takes you out of the set range, you will exit slow down mode.

And as my opinion or knowledge on the game GP Distance adjustment speed........A shorter value gained on the prior play will equally shrink the short , medium , and long ranges . But this is dependent on your setting on how much or little they will shrink for the next play call. A value of zero will take into many prior plays averages which causes little to no change to the ranges.

I do not know if something is actually shrinking or just calculating to a useable scale. To me the calculation same make sense but the design was for this game. Logic is always up for debate.

Yes, but short passes are SHORT too :)
(Some short pass plays are even WORSE by the QB stand far behind the scrimage and pass SIDEWAYS so it become very far for the reciever to reach first down.)

Here is an other example with 5 to short plays at the FIRST HALF of the match https://mfn48.myfootballnow.com/watch/4953#876668
(Short plays set to total around 10 percent. )

So if the GP Distance Adjustment Speed is set to LOW, then geting a SHORTER when the first is shorter than average.
That's OPPOSITE to logic :)

Are you one of the developers?
I didn't get answer -why having GP Distance Adjustment Speed at all???
Specialy when it mess up logic :)

A " dump off" pass is short but in the first half of that game you used only one pass with the designated "short" label on it. The qb threw it short cause he thought they were covered or the Random number generator just passed to a second or third option .

I cannot answer any logic questions as there is one developer , JDB, or John David baker. He is the captain . I just like the game and helping others. Feel free to PM he is very open, but busy like most.

I don't remember in which of the example matches but there have been several RUNS too (= short plays) many more than the percent I have told them too. So something is wrong :)
raymattison21 or the Random number generator just passed to a second or third option . [/quote] So there is a Random number generator, which can make the QBs to throw short even when I have told them they have to throw Medium/Long??

Here is one more example, many in Q2.

I see. Thank you.

I will try him to try to get so I will not get more short plays than I order :)

((I WERE very busy, but now I have time to play Myfootballnow, because of an injury make I have less other things I have to do :)

Here are more examples where the QB AIM at making a SHORT play, when he isn't suppoused to...

https://mfn27.myfootballnow.com/watch/5975#1054331
2-20-ATL 44 (6:26) 8-James Brown pass complete to 33-Phillip Chatman to ATL 43 for 1 yards. Tackle by 24-Zachery Crandall.
Offensive Play: I Formation 3WR SE Post
Defensive Play: Nickel Normal CB3 MLB Blitz

https://mfn27.myfootballnow.com/watch/5975#1054379
3-10-IND 26 (2:03) 8-James Brown pass complete to 35-Ryan Parker to IND 36 for 9 yards. Tackle by 26-Charles Dougherty. ATL 96-John Cameron was injured on the play. He looks like he should be able to return.
Offensive Play: Weak I Normal All Go
Defensive Play: 3-4 Normal 2 Deep Man

In this the QB has UNCOVERED targets to pass longer to, but he don't even look there, only look short when it isn't suppoused to be short!
https://mfn27.myfootballnow.com/watch/5975#1054392
2-10-IND 25 (14:56) 8-James Brown pass incomplete, intended for 35-Ryan Parker. Pressure by 66-Mark Wiggins. That ball was not released cleanly.
Offensive Play: Split Backs 3 Wide WR Quick Out
Defensive Play: Nickel Strong CB3 Blitz Man - Pass Key

And two in line
https://mfn27.myfootballnow.com/watch/5975#1054410
2-16-ATL 16 (8:07) 35-Ryan Parker ran to ATL 16 for a short gain. Tackle by 90-Sergio Jones.
Offensive Play: Shotgun Normal HB Dive
Defensive Play: Nickel Normal Double WR1 - Run Key

3-16-ATL 16 (7:25) 8-James Brown pass complete to 35-Ryan Parker to ATL 15 for 1 yards. Tackle by 51-Raul Guidi.
Offensive Play: Singleback Slot Strong HB Checkdown
Defensive Play: Dime Normal Double WR3 - Pass Key

It seem the sim count 2nd and 10 as short! That'c not shor, because MEDIAN short plays DON'T reach 5 yards not even for the top teams. (Perhaps there is a few exception teams who manage that.)
https://mfn27.myfootballnow.com/watch/5975#1054442
2-10-IND 25 (12:45) 8-James Brown pass complete to 10-Jack Botello to IND 28 for 3 yards. Tackle by 56-Roosevelt Edwards.
Offensive Play: Strong I Normal WR Post TE Out
Defensive Play: 3-4 Normal Man QB Spy - Pass Key

It looks like you are confusing play selection with results. Most long and medium pass plays have an option to dump off to the RB or TE if the play breaks down. Just because you only gained 2 yards that doesn't mean it wasn't a LONG pass play. You would have to look each of those pass plays up in your playbook to confirm. It lists the offensive play called each time.
