Players of the Week

i see that the players of the week will be on top of the page and the awards will be handed out in preseason , regular season and the playoffs.

also you can sort it by all players or rookies
also you can sort it by league , conference or team
also by team either be offense or defense
also you can by all time or any year you want.

i am guessing this feature will be live for our next season coming up.

great job JDB (though could have put special teams , coaches and goats of the week on it too not that i am being picky just glad it is more happening than anything)

All those options are built into it, yes - still some bugs so I've removed it from the home page, but if you want to play with it you're welcome to look at it here:

Most combinations of options will return an error, however.

That's an awesome addition. This is honestly one of my favorite updates ever.

Only downfall is it doesent account for players who play out of position.

Example RB J. Smith is listed as a WR but he was a starting RB who arguably was MVP of the whole league. I'm not being bias but just judging by numbers and he had the best overall stats. (2,129)yards 6.5 a carry 24 /30 catches (517) yards receiving 17 total TDs. (2,646 total yards)

He's not listed at all in any awards also it doesent list a RB for Baltimore at all.

Hopefully it's fixable.

I don't know if I'm going to change that, for a player to qualify for getting the award for a position I feel like they need to be assigned that position.

If a player rushes for more yards then everybody in the league he's not eleigible for a award because his title? So if he's a wr for 15 weeks and you switch him to RB but he's played RB all year then will he be eligible?

It should go by the position he played the majority of his snaps at

If he's not on your roster as a RB, he's not a RB and so doesn't get the RB award. You are, of course, free to award him whatever you please from your team.

If I change him to rb would it change the awards? Personally it doesent matter one way or the other . I'm just curious.

I'm not sure I like this restriction. Often players are assigned a different "official" position solely for purposes of trying to control their weight, since this is the only method we have at our disposal.

I have RBs who are technically listed as WR, but they are not even in the WR depth chart, only the RB depth chart.

Oh but don't worry if you want to do your own team awards feel free to do so. That was the response I got. Couldent put a finger on if it was a real idea or a smart a++ response. Who knows. You can't tell what peoples intentions are sometimes over messages. Anyways I don't care what he meant by it.

I do know I have shown two people this new feature and told them that rule and they thought that dident make any sense at all. If a player has stats that are better then someone else's it shouldent matter what position he's labeled as.
