I see the Jets had a pretty miserable draft, not that it matters much because they're 67 mil over cap. Detroit's is the same boat. So soon we'll be able to pick over the carcasses of those teams as they become franchises nobody will want to play. I did my one attempt at a re-build with the Cleveland (dumpster) Fire in another league. When my draft with 35 rookies would still have to be described as a bust with only ome player blooming, I've decided "never again". What was the point of enduring two hideous seasons when the draft-nerf gives you no payoff when it's over? I get one more 30+ player draft with them in a couple of weeks. If that's a bust as well -- I'm out. Dome, finished.
In Cleveland I see 19 up and 13 down. That's pretty good...for a 50/50 roll...and just to clarify the nerf , we have to be nearing the end of over powered draft classes. Maybe some 10 or 12 plus year players are from then.
They had essentially 90 rated players all throughout the first round every draft.. Mfn 1 got like a dozen seasons of these draft classes to be generated for this league .
But from original draft classes back when I joined over 5 years ago, when compared to now, were actually weaker . Since A volatility boost was added to later round picks as they are passes up each round , and static traits were boosted for lower overall rated players .
So the top end players are pretty much the same but more useable talent is coming from the later rounds . Due to radomness of draft talent and when you run in to a draft like this one makes going all in very risky .
Rookies fill out their potential at more drastic and varied rates as well. To me this creates play now rookies . Kinda like the nfl, but performers for mfn1 this draft are way down on the offense side.
I get rookies to statistically make the probowl in other leagues , but it does take at least half a season to get experience , play knowledge , and their weight in pounds to ranges so they can be effective . I have always chalked this up to my teams depth at the rookies position , strength of the draft class, and how far the season is from the original allocation .
I think the most I have drafted is like 12 guys and that pretty high count for a rebuild. But I was Baltimore for a second turning them around from2-14 to 14-2 in one season . We had a rookie 5th round qb lead us and a 2nd round cb get 800 snaps, but some trades and minor FA contracts was definitely the safer and more effective quick turn around rather than a rebuilding .
Your team on the other hand was a complete dumpster fire. I don't think you had any choice about getting so many picks I one year. Still, that 2021 draft we gambled big and landed some great and some pretty good players , Hitting on 9 of 11 picks..in a decent pool of talent .
If we missed on more of those picks there no doubt our season would have been different
