After being embarrassed twice last year by Miami during their forgettable 2014 campaign, the 2015 new look NJY team is making waves in the AC East. Bolstered by its offseason defensive overhaul, release of overpaid aging starters, along with their new starting QB acquired via FA, NJY are off to a strong start and are now thinking playoffs this year.
MIA came out swinging in the 1st quarter and jumped out to an early 13-0 lead. It looked like it was going to be another MIA romp. The defense regrouped and came out strong in the 2nd quarter, holding MIA scoreless, while allowing the offense to take a halftime lead of 17-13. The defense held their own against the vaunted MIA offense for the rest of the game, getting 3 INTs and holding star RB Morrales to under 100 yds rushing and star TE Partain to just 30 yds receiving. MIA came back late and took the lead with a FG with under 2 min remaining. NJY immediately went into their 2 min drill and their newly acquired kicker hit the game winning FG with no time left on the clock.
