MFN-1 has finally run into a limitation in the game engine. After 60 seasons, the salary cap has grown to over $2.2 billion, which is more than the game can handle. The engine uses 32-bit signed integers, which have a maximum value of 2,147,483,647 — and we’ve just exceeded that limit.
Because of this overflow issue, the simulation can’t continue until I make some adjustments. I’ve paused the sim for a few days to work out the best solution. My current plan is to reset the salary cap by dividing it by 1,000, bringing it back down to around $2.2 million. I’ll also make sure that all salary cap–related values in the game are adjusted consistently so nothing breaks.
