I have noticed quite a bit recently where a player catches or runs the ball, then gets hit/stopped and pushed back, or even a receiver running a comeback route and they get pushed back. The spot of the ball is where they are tackled, not where forward progress stopped. For example, I have seen a 2nd and 10 where a pass is completed for 11 yards but the receiver gets pushed back 2 or 3 yards after the catch - that should be a first down but ends up being a 3rd and 2. Not sure if anyone else has seen this, but something worth tweaking/looking into in my opinion.
Here is a decent example from this week where on 1st and 10 this should have been a 9 yd gain IMO based on where he catches the ball, but was only a 6 yard gain based on where the tackle occurred....
