OK, I tried a trade with Jacksonville, 2.1 for 2.27. It was in the green. Any other draft pick, even adding 7.27, overbalanced the trade.
In the draft value chart (http://www.draftcountdown.com/features/Value-Chart.php), 2.1 is worth 580 points and 2.27 is worth 310. A difference of 270 points. This would mean that 2.1 is exactly even with 2.27 and 2.32. The trading is still a bit off, in my estimation. If I offer 2.27 and 3.27 for 2.1, it should show that the trade is slightly In my favor... 2.1 worth 580, 2.27 worth 310 and 3.27 worth 136. 446 points of draft picks for a 580 point draft pick. Basically a 23% deficit in the trade value. 446 is 77% of the 580 fair value.
Next, I tried to offer WR Richard Hixon (I have him at 55/87 with my weighting) for 2.1. Now, if we look at the draft class right now, the best available WR at 2.1 is Eldred who I have at 30/76. This trade would heavily favor Jacksonville (getting a 87 future guy where you could only get a 76 future rated guy in the draft). The bar shows it still in green but slightly in Jacksonville's favor. I think it needs to show a little more towards the really good WR.
I did a few other tests, and most look OK. I have a different opinion on value than everyone else, I'm pretty sure, so my thoughts may be a little different. I think that the values are still off a little on draft picks for players. I think they are very far off, still, with draft pick for draft pick. I only tested a few scenarios, so I would like to hear the opinion of others on this.
