My DE gets called for a face mask but he touches no one. He gets in the face of the qb, clearly has no effect on the laser strike to the reciever. I would think the QB throwing would be effected at least a little if he had turned that helmet around so he was looking through his ear hole. Guess not. It must have been one of those inadvertent ones.....the five yard ones. Just a brush across the mask.

Double checked....Nope it was a 15 yarder.

There's no such thing as a 5-yard "inadvertent" facemask penalty anymore in the NFL. Any facemask infraction is an automatic 15 yard penalty.

Too, bad this was neither. Cause my guy never touched him. As there was no broken tackle or was he even in range.
