Detroit working on the rebuild

Since 2019, the franchise has constantly been digging deeper into the realms of negative record.

With a 1-15 record last season under a new owner (5 different in as many years), difficult to go lower than that. This 2024 will still be a mountain to overcome though, resulting in years of bad management do correct. 35M in dead cap, 10 retired players during the offseason, with a high probabilty of as many or even more at the end of the season if the roster stays the same, rebuilding in this league will be as great an achievement as could be. With only 21 players who will enter their 8th or less season in the league, rejuvenating the roster is going to be the main mission this season.

In a tough Free Agency competition, with only a few younger players available, the 1st overall draft pick will need to be an efficient one, no busts allowed, and trading up might have to happen to get a second 1st round pick.

Good luck to the second season owner on his project.
