Play over use penalty

The level of penalty does not reflect well when you compare the blitz vs. the pass. Defenders are still changing games even after a dozen calls. Yet by play 5 I feel the penalty applied to a cushy 4 or 3 man rush allows for to many "easy" catches( despite being double covered).

Following wars last game vs. QB Durham had one play ( 4-3 under double safety blitz ? ) called alot vs. him but the last time it was called resulted in an interception. Maybe war could check his game plan results but I know there were two interceptions by the defense and zero TDs by the offense . They probably averaged five yards a play.

Alot goes into this completion/interception decision but the interception one is too high. Or what primarily dictates the interception seems to be too high. These calls with no deep safety would allow for huge yard after contact numbers, but not vs. Wars team on this play. Granted run a 3 wr set vs. The same play and the QB might find the slot or TE, but not vs. the standard defensive look.

That 3 wr set might be the most productive set in this game, but that up for another debate.

I'm not 100% sure I'm going to keep the overuse penalty in. I'm studying the film on the hot reads more and right now working on having the QB make a better decision than just throw to the point that the blitzer is vacating.

I'm not likely going to release 0.4.1 at the end of this season like I had hoped, though.

I would love to see the overuse penalty go away, but for basically selfish reasons. My defense next year in MFN-1 will feature LBs in M2M or Zone In coverage primarily. The problem is there aren't enough plays to get me to 30 M2M or Zone In, so my defense will end up calling a lot of the same plays over and over. The overuse penalty would have killed this approach. But the hot read approach will be more interesting to run a prevent style defense as opposed to an attack defense.

Is there anyone who feels 0.4.1 is NOT better than what we are currently playing with in the regular leagues?

I'd much rather have this version than 0.4, and I'd also much rather have the overuse penalty than not have it.

I would argue that it needs to be released, but I would also argue that a hot fix will need to be planned for tackling and defense after the release. Short passing offenses that target the RB a lot (and probably the TE if you have a really good one) are going to dominate a lot of defenses, especially in leagues where you do not have as developed of a player base as MFN-1. In most of the leagues that are <5 seasons in, a few teams are just going to destroy everyone else even worse than what is already happening.
