The updates to QB play in 0.4.2 exposed many problems with the secondary. Right now, the only defenses I see that are able to consistently slow down QBs go man up on every WR. Even then, DBs with <=50 M2M are getting badly exposed. Not going man up on every receiver is asking for the other team to destroy you with hot reads.
Zone defenses are impossible to run right now because DBs aren't smart enough to play both their zone and their man, so receivers either get open underneath and if they have good ball carry find a hole and go. Or receivers get deeper than the zone for easy scores over the top.
I don't mind DBs getting burned or hot reads destroying the blitz. But zone coverage still irks me. There is a time and place for zone defenses, but right now, they give up ~70% completions and too many big plays against the pass and the run.
