Had a couple of ideas for the sim regarding veteran players in order to make them more attractive to owners and have them give some added benefit:
- If a player reaches year 10 (or whatever predetermined year) then they could develop a coaching/mentor attribute to help speed up, or give a bonus to, player development. A lot of teams in the NFL bring on quality aging vets to help in younger player development and coaching.
- A lot of great players retire in the game, but none ever become coaches in MFN. Maybe a certain % (or maybe retired at a minimum player rating) of retired players can enter the coaching pool as position coaches each season?? Maybe even a prompt that if a player on your team announces retirement and wants to go into coaching, that team would have first rights to bring them board as a position coach (like an internal candidate) before they hit the pool. A lot of coaches in the NFL are former players. Would be fun to have a former QB become an OC, or a good FS/SS become the secondary coach.
Thought these might add a fun dynamic to the game without over complicating it.
