1.1 for sale

To prove just how much my play/coding balance is on the coding side I have landed the 1.1 pick, which I will gladly trade for future first rounds. (Note plural on rounds).

I'd be very leery about making a high pick now that we can't even tell how fast a player is.

Example:
DE Joe Kulick
With a volatility of 14, in a normal year he would be one of the top players off the board if his max speed/accel were shown as 100 instead of 61-100 (pre-scouting).

If he ends up going #1 (or anywhere in the first round) and it turns out to be 61, someone is going to be sorely disappointed.

It's a good year for me to be without a 1st round pick, as I have no idea who I'd even be interested in.

I'm very curious to see how this plays out or if it's just all going to be completely random now. No more "I'm looking for X type of player".

Is that how the draft is going to be for now on? Why are you changing it? There's nothing wrong with it.

I'm honestly not loving the whole scouting draft picks and hidden values. Too much work, effort, and guessing going into drafts now. The old way was perfectly fine and didn't need tweaking IMO.

The main reason is to make the players less certain of what you're getting, to get better players in later rounds.

If the consensus is that it makes the draft worse, I will take it out. So please give your honest feedback - if more people voice that they dislike it than like it then I'll take it back out after the draft and throw the idea away.

I think it would be better if some of the items that are being obfuscated now weren't, like speed / acceleration / arm strength, etc. Mainly the purely physical attributes.

Also, it might be worth considering the idea of blue chip prospects that don't have any, or many, attributes hidden, plus others who have more hidden than the average prospect. The latter should include some good boom players.

Personally I think there is enough of a range of talent thru out the draft. plenty of players that boom and become starters from 2nd all the way to 6 th round. If you think about it there aren't a ton of studs in later rounds in real.

I feel like that would pretty much nuke the whole concept, since those are the primary indicators of where a player should be drafted.

Maybe allow multiple scoutings of a single player, that narrows down their range. So if a single player gets scouted three times, his atts are like 95% accurate. That would make "blue chip" players much more of a sure-fire thing (which would help out those who are drafting earliest).

to me a scouted player with low volatility is a lock
