Daniel Hutchinson hung up his cleats shortly after his 4th Championship game. #18 was drafted 1:24 out of small East New Mexico state. Daniel began his rookie year coming off the bench behind a veteran WR corps but by the end of the season he was playing 3WR and the primary kick and punt return player. His 3rd season was his breakout year as a wideout with 2020 yards receiving.

Daniel leaves the game after only 9 seasons but ranks 2nd over all in league all time receiving yards, 4th all-time in receptions, 3rd all-time in receiving TDs. He leads Carolina's all time receiving team in every category and total yards from scrimmage and total TDs.

His career stats:
805 recpt. 14,507 yards receiving, 18.02 ypc. ave and 99 TDs.
247 punt returns, 4,205 yards, 17 ypp ave. and 14 TDs.
110 kick returns, 2,806 yards, 26 ypk ave, and 2TDs.

Daniel lead a dynamic Carolina offense for many years and takes home a pair of League Championship rings. He will be missed.

Also retiring this season is team anchor Jeffrey Shaffer. Big #78 has played for Carolina his entire career of 11 seasons and been a leader of the OL playing RT with a mauling physical power.

#78 retires leading the league in Total Starts and leads Carolina all-time in Total plays. His long career helped keep Carolina near the low end of the league in sacks allowed and provide the team with a road grading power on the right side in there running game.

Jeffrey takes home a pair of Championship rings.

Nice post season report Carolina! very interesting read looking at all of there stats.

1 question I want to ask is how did you get the stats for Hutchinson? Did you go to a certain page to look up his stats versus other players? And did he rank all time in your franchise history, or all time in league history?

Also retiring this year is another anchor on the Carolina OL, David Tucker. #70 held down the Right Guard spot on a great OL for 10 seasons. He was drafted in the third round out of Iowa and backed up the Right Tackle spot for two seasons before he moved to starting at Right Guard. David has only given up 4 sacks in his career and takes home a pair of Championship rings.

An all time Carolina great has moved on to retirement. Long time QB, #8 Kevin Gebhard has announced his retirement.

Drafted number eight overall in the 2014 draft, Kevin sat out his rookie season before taking over as the starter his second year. #8 has 43,539 regular season passing yards and an additional 5,526 in the post season. He has a career QB rating of 94.20 putting him in top company and he owns every Carolina passing record including 321 regular season TDs. Kevin retires tenth in all time passing yards and tied for 3rd with all time TDs.

Kevin led the Panthers to nine seasons of play including seven playoff years, five Championship appearances and a pair of Championship rings. Carolina will retire his #8 jersey during the halftime ceremony of the Jets game, a fitting way to honor one of Carolina's best.

Long time Guard Henry Davis has retired this off season. #66 was drafted out of Indiana in the 2nd round by Carolina. Henry won the full time starting job at RG by the start of his 2nd year and held that spot for an additional 7 more seasons. He is #7 on the Carolina list for all time downs played.

He was a durable tough part of a solid Carolina OL for his 9 season. He posted just 18 sacks given up in 131 games and the team posted a solid rushing attack as well. Henry played in 6 straight Championship Games and goes home with a pair of rings.
