Scouting

How does scouting work? I got the pop-up a while ago telling me to make sure I do it. I've fiddled around with it, but I really have no idea what it does.

The more familiar you are with a play, the better you run it/stop it/do against it

So its really just practice and has nothing to do with "scouting"?

I actually have a connected question. You pull up the scouting menu and under the play it says "Times called" This means times called by the team you're playing, correct?

Its the plays that your team practices against the scout team during the week. The info shows you how your opponent has had succes with that play, and how familiar your tam is with that play. So it's scouting in the terms of the playbook as opposed to scouting the players on the team which may be what you are thinking.

No, I'm thinking what you're saying. What was unclear to me is whether the numbers were based on a "practice" or based on your season. So are the "times called" based on games or simulation against your future oponent?

As I understand it it's the times that you've seen that exact play regardless of opponent.

So in concept if you play in the NC East and every team in your division plays a grinding running game you should build up familiarity against those plays more quickly than others.

Oh, is this true? THis is completely different than I thought then. Is it the number of times the play has been called against my team or the number of times that specific opponent has called that play?

I think it's the number of times the specific opponent has called the play. your scouting the opponent not the number of times total in all games. that would make the most sense to me anyway.
