https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/gamecenter/view/5055#910031This almost looks like the Right Gunner is running the wrong way (maybe he is just being pushed off the line that hard by the double team?).
The left gunner seems to break on the returner a bit late too and then has to take a terrible angle to get back into the play (in fact he runs backwards and then turns around again to face the returner... weird)
The punter out kicks the majority of the coverage, a 51 punt is not all the unusual so this may be an issue of a lack of hang time, and this punt is coming from one of the very best punters in the league.
This is what i am trying to say, its great that the punter is punting 50+ yard punts but if the returner is catching the ball and there isnt anyone 15-20 yards from him it doesnt matter, he runs 5-10 yds and by that time the gunner is out of position and the returner makes that one quick cut outside and is gone. These punts just dont have the hang time. You compare this to real football where you may have 3-4 players around the returner when he catches the ball. Rarely do you see this on this game.
The NFL had 13 PR for TD's last season, thats about the total for 2 weeks in this game and there is no way to gameplan for it. This is the biggest issue killing games right now IMO.
Until the gunner situation gets fixed hang time is the easiest fix for solving this issue.
