Yes it matters if the stats match, or are at least close. A lot of us originally joined because it's an NFL sim, we love the NFL, and we'd like our game to somewhat resemble it.

I will not stand on the mighty Hill of Realism ever again when what I really want is a new UI (getting it) and fixes.
I've been where some of y'all still are.

That was my experience. I won't repeat it. I hope others don't follow such a path that leads only to conflicts and not progress.

Today, I just trust JDB and I really love MFN. JDB is very active these days which is great stuff. He seems to be very focused. He's always been incredibly amazing to me and to us.
It's why I am here and why I came back.

I will ask the die hards standing on the Hill of Realism as I once did - and as I was picked apart for in the past once again:

Let's pretend MFN did not follow the NFL schedule/divisions/conferences; that MFN were to be 14 wk seasons, 4 conferences of 8 teams, no divisions, playoffs of only the division winner (4 team) bracket) yadda...
I will ask again: IF MFN did not follow the NFL so closely and IF it were different of a presentation that removed NFL comparisons, what would you say about fixing the game play itself?
(also a re-question to CJ)

Again, not trying to be a goober, I just want additional explanation and discussion.
Is it the game play or is it the lack of Realism that matters most?

PS: It was incredibly hard for me to accept MFN as it is and to become positive about the progress I've seen from it. It really, really was.

It's not a mistake, it's a well recognized pattern.
Shakesphere refferred to such people as "the basest of the base, and a beast of the two backs."
Shakesphere was really nasty when it came to the nobles and the Kings. ;)

The answer to your question is easy!!!

I searched for a football sim that emulated the NFL nearly 7 years ago and if MFN had some weird non-NFL league structure, I probably never would have joined in the first place!!!

I've been playing sports Sims for 40 years all the way back to Statis-Pro baseball & Football which was a card based game.

I've always looked for realism and I don't think at 56 years old that will change.

This is going sideways. Looking forward to that July update. My prediction:

No changes released since last update

Committee being developed but no formal progress has been made

No expected release date for full UI, still lots of kinks to work out

I agree with CJ that had MFN been something completely different I probably would never have joined. I wanted to play a football sim based on the NFL, I saw an ad for MFN and joined.

For me it doesn't have to be an exact replica of the NFL but the closer MFN gets the better imo.

First off, sorry you got called a J.Edgar Hoover, that seems excessive.

Next, thank you for fully admitting you switched usernames. I think you revealed this before, finally, well after you got figured out, but it's still nice to not having you deny you're both.

Third, something is different about your posts. You probably don't want or care about my opinion but true to my form, I'll give it anyway. Whatever is different, keep it up, I think you are headed in the right direction as far as not coming across as self important and condescending. Those traits still come across somewhat but it's softened quite a bit from your CSB days.

If you want some actual discussion instead of name calling, you are getting on the right track, at least with me.

Last edit: My AP english teacher whom i had for four years and taught me guitar was the type of fella that threw shoes for using a quote in the wrong place. He also had me memorize the the first 1/3 of Homer's Odyssey and Iliad and teach it to my peers. He was and still is nutty AF, still needs to Return my bootleg Hendrix VHS Rainbow Bridge, but dude taught me there is no quip I can create that has not been said much better by much more talented people.

Such will always be the case here :)
