I haven't seen it rampant, but I don't really pay much attention to other teams or leagues I must admit.

So it has been done 'several times'? They should be banned immediately if indeed that is the case. Please share examples of the 'several times' of cheating with Admin so they can clean the game up.

Huge difference between different trading philosophies and team building styles, vs cheating. I only know of one instance of cheating, and that was several seasons ago and the guy was banned.

I assume they were banned then as Admin is not going to allow that. Who was banned and what happened so we can all be aware, and better recognize it in the future?

Grandad alleging cheating and cheating actually happening aren't the same thing...no matter how passionately he claims it to be true. Let's trust JDB to have looked into it and taken appropriate action.

I'm getting the feeling that he wants to lead a witch hunt on every trade he doesn't like. Granted it is quite possible that there is some level of cheating going on, but I think we should keep in mind that trading is never going to be perfect and in any trade there are usually going to be winners and losers, as well as that there should be some form of concrete proof before any action is taken.

I investigate every time someone brings a possible cheating situation to my attention, but can count on one hand the number of times I've found evidence that there is indeed cheating going on, and have dealt with it every time - and while I will take a strong stand against cheating I also don't want to go on a witch hunt myself and/or take premature action against someone who just did something that messed up his team without really realizing it. I don't doubt there are people here who are trying to get around the restrictions I've put in place, as long as you involve even a small number of people in a game like this - especially one you can play for free - it will happen. I choose not to be public in most of the things I do to counter this as well as any investigations I do - regardless of the outcome - for obvious reasons.

Can understand why you might think that lellow, but thats not the case for me. Ive said my peace and expressed my concern about how a dummy team can be done, it's a piece of cake to do so for those who want to cheat. I agree with you that trading is never going to be perfect, just as the game is never going to be a perfect simulation. Concrete proof is also perfect, which is not going to happen, you can only point out something that looks pretty obvious or unusual to say the least. Like when you see an account that keeps taking over winning teams when they have been abandoned, makes a few trades, and then zip... nothing, no other transactions, no free agent bids, no gameplanning other than AI and a consistent losing record in the .300 and below range. So, again, Ive stated my opinion about it, reported one case as an example to Admin, and thats that. Im not the first to post about how this type of cheating is done and am not wanting to start any "witch hunts", but when I see something that really stands out as "something is wrong here", I will report it to admin and let it go from there. thanks, sorry for any consternation or misunderstanding, not my intent. cheers, Gdad

Gdad,

I see you have taken a lot of heat for this thread. Just realize many of the people here are only out for themselves. I am not talking about everyone, obviously some of the people are awesome, very helpful answring public, or private questions, and even posting advice to people who need or could use it. However some of the people that posted here, or in the solving the trades issue threads are nothing but straight vultures. They wouldn't help their own mama across the street if it meant they may lose a game here or there, and cost them their precious winning streak.

I play to win too, I hate losing too. I am even cutthroat at board games etc. However if someone reaches out to me, and asks for help I will gladly help them. Even if it might cost me a win against them. **** I just helped out a friend who was facing me last night in one of my leagues with an hour or two of gameplanning/dc/ advice, when I knew before, during, and after it could cost me a win, and perhaps even later a chance at a title in that or another league. That's the kind of guy I am.

I respect that you posted, and reposted your beliefs, ideals, etc and would not be swayed. You my friend are a survivor, and real. Noone can take that away from you. Good luck to you. Pm me if you want ANYTIME.

John

Just because you can't find evidence, doesn't mean its not happening, merely checking an IP isn't the 'be-all-end-all' of investigation.
Unfortunately its not hard to find a way around being detected, I blame google ;)

I'm 99% sure that there is at least one multi on here who is a regular user.
