So get a Punter. Go down the list there's some recent ones Ed Reed, Dominic Cromartie-Rodgers etc

He had a punter all along, but forgot to activate him. I must say your back and forth was helping nobody.

In full disclosure, it seems having a real punter matters. I can't explain why it matters, but the facts are when his kicker punted, everything got blocked. In the next game, using a real punter, he had zero punts blocked.

I will not be checking who he had blocking because I don't want to spend the time to do it, but in this case, the facts say the kicker punting was the problem.

Here are the game logs if anyone wants to see for themselves. The team in question is the Washington Federals.

Easy clarification of this matter:

Case #1: Kicker was punting. Punting skills: Strength 27, Accuracy 10, Timing 15. That means in my opinion NO Punting skills at all.
Blocker was WR Speed 71 coming in from the wing.

Case #2: Punter was punting: Punting skills: Strength 85, Accuracy 92, Timing 85. Even a very fast player (WR, DB) with speed 85+ playing in the Front 4 would scarcely block this punter.

Conclusion: The Punt Block Exploit is fixed.

Compare the a.m. with a QB with Passing Accuracy 15. I do not think that you complain about pass play is broken and has to be fixed.

It's obvious you don't pay attention to everything typed in responses to you. I HAD/HAVE a Punter. He wasn't playing.

Please, TheAdmiral, pay attention to everything in this response. Thank you in advance.

And before anyone starts - My Kicker's punting attributes are abysmal.

Idc. The issue was BLOCKING. That was supposedly fixed

The block came from the left wing rusher, which is something to check. I'm building a table currently in Big Data to track punt blocks, so let's see what the data says.

Thanks for replying with something constructive & progressive. I appreciate that you'll be keeping an eye out in your new league.

Look, if I've offended anyone, I apologise. However, this has been discussed ad nauseum.

Punt blocks can happen in 4.6, just as they can in real life. They are exceptionally rare, rarer than in real life.

To limit the potential for having a Punt blocked, you can do two things.

1. NEVER EVER use a non-punter to Punt - nothing good can come from this. You will give up a huge amount of yards with short punts and punts out of bounds OR you'll get your Punts blocked.

2. ALWAYS have a Punter with a minimum of 75 for Punt Timing (preferably 80+)

CrazyRazor came to this thread, knowing the above. He knew why the Punts were blocked as he explained it in his post. Defensive Backs flying off the edge is a legitimate tactic in real life NFL, using a non-Punter to Punt is not (it can happen occasionally with an in-game injury to the Punter).

He made a mistake, own it.

The data will say get an actual Punter who has better than 75 (preferably 80) for Punt timing.

Watch a punt in the NFL, Punters have rushers diving at them on several punts per game. Then ask why no NFL teams choose not to have a specialist Punter.

In 4.6 Punt blocks are not impossible but when they do, it's usually from a non punter punting OR a Punter with bad timing

#PuntersLivesMatter

I think the data will say that DB's, WR's, RB's & LB's STILL HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING LINED UP ON THE FRONT FOUR and ONLY LB's SHOULD BE PLAYING THE WING POSITIONS.

Watch on NFL Punt & tell me when a DB or a WR blocks a punt coming off the wing positions. I'll wait.

2017 Rams vs Eagles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uS0QnMxRqKo&ab_channel=MichaelSchartner
* Mike Thomas (189# WR) comes from the wing to block the punt.

2016 Baltimore vs Steelers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFvtOP_1GrE&ab_channel=NFL
* Javorius Allen (218# RB) comes from the wing to block the punt.

2015 WFT vs Jets: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVeNU_qtvNo&ab_channel=NFL
* Rashad Ross (180# WR) comes from the wing to block the punt.

I could probably find a lot more. These were just the first three that I found.

Almost no NFL team plays LBs in the wing rush positions if they are trying to block a punt. They play their fastest players and let them cut the angle.

---

The one aspect that hasn't been discussed above is that playing out of position is supposed to have a bigger detriment in 4.6. Out of position punters already had most of their punts blocked in 4.5. I assume that this means that almost all punts by an out of position punter will be blocked in 4.6.

In v4.5 out of position punters would get away with it 99% of the time. Vast majority.

It'd always be sharp, yard-less shanks. v4.6 it's Au revoir, baby. They get lit up.

Thank you for posting more constructive & progressive information, Smirt211.

I'm still suspicious as to whether this exploit is resolved.

I remember a time when punt blocks weren't a part of this game. I also think it's absurd that punt blocks can happen, but FG/XP blocks don't.
