Game Engine Version 0.3.1 has been released!

We are excited to announce the release of version 0.3.1 of the MyFootballNow Game Engine! Notable updates and bug fixes include:
  • Improved player creation algorithm, including higher rated players for the first part of the draft and an increased CB/decreased safety creation rate
  • DL pressure impact has been improved and pressures are now noted in the play-by-play
  • AI draft selections should be improved
  • If the AI has to activate or deactivate players, it will no longer rebuild your depth chart
  • Punt receiving team will now force the punt to re-kick if there is a penalty against the kicking team and the punt pinned the receiving team inside the 20 yard line
  • Some timeout issues have been resolved, including the defense calling timeouts too early when behind by a large amount
  • The "sack for a gain" bug should be fixed

The game engine will roll over as each league ends their season. You can see what version of the game engine each league is using by looking at the bottom of any page in the league. Note that the players are generated at the end of the regular season and not the beginning of the next season, so the player generation changes will not occur until the league has completed a full season using the new game engine.

Does this include anything regarding the ability to determine if players will be evaluated by current or future ratings?

Yes, the AI evaluation for drafted players as well as your auto-queue draft list will be based on future ratings with this update (previously it was the half-way point between current and future)

Would it be possible for L10--which is just entering into the draft stage of the off-season--be upped to the most current version?

Also, I noticed that the patch notes listed the receiving team on punts as only accepting penalties if they were pinned within the 20. I would lobby for them to accept a penalty any time that the net punt was over 38. Holding is the only penalty I've seen assessed on punting teams; it's unlikely the punter will net over 48 on a re-kick, so it should be an auto-accept for a second chance at a return.

I don't think so, since it will effect the draft especially if anyone has built their queue via the auto-queue. I'd be willing to change it between the end of the draft and late FA 1 if you remind me.

How about MFN-31 also.

Last day of our draft is this Friday (tomorrow or today). That would be sweet!
