Wobbly Passes

What controls the wobbly pass? Portland's QB had 10 passes that were wobbly, not released clean, or lost control (control has a typo in the PBP BTW) in this game: https://beta87.myfootballnow.com/log/1494

This seems really excessive.

I'm starting this thread to track wobbly pass games.

watch my game (pit) happens more times than i can count..i would assume passing release?? in any case 91 isnt enough xD

No, it's can't be Passing Release. Passing Release doesn't mean how the ball leaves the hand. It refers to the time it takes from when the QB makes a decision until when he throws.

This feels random.

Also, last MFN-1 games don't count since all of them were jacked up.

Has to be random..I'm not sure what other attribute would cause that..scrambling..acceleration, ball carry and Hard count are my QB's lowest attributes. rest are 90's and 100's.

If it's random, it needs to be scrapped immediately. I'm all in favor of the DL tipping the ball, but that goes back to player generation and player attributes mattering more than random things in the code causing issues.

Dallas' QB had 11 wobbly passes this game: https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/log/7806

This another QB with 100 Accuracy and 90+ other passing attributes getting screwed by random wobbly code.

Wasn't the code always there?... he's just using the teXT to explain things better. Certainly I am not justifying anything . ....I am not sure what the verbage is simulating?

Yes, I'm almost certain the code was always there, which is why we see so many games in standard leagues where a QB goes 21/25 - 350 - 5 - 0 one game and 7/25 - 100 - 0 - 5 the next game.

I'm pointing out how often the wobbly code appears in games with good QBs and how awful it makes the game to have another random, unpredictable, and useless bandaid affect game play so badly.

We need to rip that bandaid off and see how deadly accurate QBs are and then address the underlying problems with coverage. (And then solve the underlying problems with player generation...)

IF, and I doubt this is the case, wobbly passing isn't random, then we need to know what combination of attributes causes a player to have fewer wobbly passes so that we can actually effectively scout QBs.

Perhaps it's based of multiple factors, such as proximity of a defender, movement by the QB, a defender touching the QB as he releases, etc. causing the QB to alter his throwing motion ?

I thought about that, but in most of the examples I've seen, the QB is not under pressure either visually in the game window or noted in the game log. I think this is one of those things like Crowd Noise that exists, but can't be accounted for, tracked (until now), or mitigated in any way.

Really, all of those random things should just go away for a few months to see how the game engine actually works now.
