lol... again. dont think new owners realize that players in 9th season or more have a chance of retiring at end of season.

True, players could decide to retire at any time. But there are a LOT of them who play 12+ years in this game.

Looks like there's going to be somebody to complain about every single trade that's made.

Not all, but agree until the points balance is addressed there will be what appears to be skewed trades

I don't see it as unbalanced.

He's getting proven first round talent now, as opposed to picking a FS in the 1st and hoping he develops eventually into a good player.

Maybe he thinks he can win now?

It may be a gamble about when he retires, but it's not unreasonable.

No one is right or wrong here, they are just opinions. If I cared more about mfn 1 I would explain more

Dudes my secondary is trash and I have a lot of aging vets on my team who are currently solid (nice spread of players who have solid ratings even compared to some of the teams that did well last season). But as the original poster pointed out no one is willing to trade for aging vets for draft picks…. SO I'm STUCK with these solid older players and that doesn't do me any good because my team isn't bad enough to get a top 10 draft pick (8-8, last year). Therefore, I figured I might was well try to make a run while I can with the current talent I have rather than be stuck in a cycle of mediocrity.

Furthermore, a draft pick 2 years from now in my view has to be discounted. In dynasty fantasy football league I thought a general rule of thumb is a draft pick in the future should be discounted by the number of years (i.e. 1st round draft pick in 2 years is worth a 3rd round draft pick today). And another point while I'm at it, I just did a draft in another league (MNF-8) were the draft talent was exceptionally weak (maybe 15 players with a future value > 80 and thats including O and D line).

Who knows but it will completely back fire but I'd rather go down in smokes than be stuck going .500 on a yearly basis…… just my two cents

My problem with these kinds of trades it usually involves someone who has been around for a season or more and someone who has just joined, so yes it looks unfair. Personally I could care less as long as both parties are happy unless its a total ridiculous trade. I never said it was a bad trade, would I make that trade? Absolutely not unless it was for a HB or QB or maybe a WR. I have played a few seasons now and know what the priorities are for a good team. I am vocal however and will voice my opinions now and then. I got reamed on MFN6 for a trade for a HB but I was the one throwing the draft picks away because I know there was no way I was ever going to get a solid HB at where I would be in the draft for the next few seasons.

Sorry but there is a track record of owners who are like vultures on new owners offering trades before the new owner even as a grasp of the Draft or FA on here. This isnt the NFL, your not going to find a diamond QB or HB or impact player in the later rounds, They might be better but doubt they will ever be impact players

Again...to each his own..lol
