I think the trade is fine, and I think amk's rationale is more than reasonable. He _should_ get a good few years out of that FS, and there's no guarantee that there will be a similar player available even for his first round pick, and his comment about the future picks being worth less is very valid as well.

well said Morbid.
I like the idea that gm's can explain their rational. Even if I don't agree with the value I can understand the need for a play maker at FS.
The other big thing with trades like this is... **** I wish I could get first round picks for my old guys;)

Trade value is so subjective. If both are happy great, but I also think a public forum such as this is a great indicator of trades that are in some way unbalanced. Proceed as you will, but know its open to judgment... Just like the public does in the real nfl.

My problem with these kinds of trades it usually involves someone who has been around for a season or more and someone who has just joined, so yes it looks unfair. Personally I could care less as long as both parties are happy unless its a total ridiculous trade. I never said it was a bad trade, would I make that trade? Absolutely not unless it was for a HB or QB or maybe a WR. I have played a few seasons now and know what the priorities are for a good team. I am vocal however and will voice my opinions now and then. I got reamed on MFN6 for a trade for a HB but I was the one throwing the draft picks away because I know there was no way I was ever going to get a solid HB at where I would be in the draft for the next few seasons.

Sorry but there is a track record of owners who are like vultures on new owners offering trades before the new owner even as a grasp of the Draft or FA on here. This isnt the NFL, your not going to find a diamond QB or HB or impact player in the later rounds, They might be better but doubt they will ever be impact players

Again...to each his own..lol
