Irrelevant but fact.
For months now equally matched teams have been decided by STs. But more alarming is the frequency. Not are
punt return yards too high but field goals are off the charts. Some general cause and effect reflects this pattern of
too many 4th downs. Too many opportunities to punt and kick. It's slightly askew. Kickers routinely getting 200 point a season would be nullified quick by the NFL. It's about the money and nobody wants a game decided by a kick. It happens but far too much here.
On Punt returns: I know a few owners here on MFN that work hard on STs and its reflected on how their teams play. Its not only about running them back for TDs, its all about field position as well and if you can consistently punt to within a opponents 10 yard line, you're going to be in trouble, most likely.
I disagree about too many 4th downs as well, ha ha I wish I could run a 3rd down offense all day as them amount of 3rd and long conversions are off the charts, eg: 3rd & 28 - The QB has struggled all game to hook up and miraculously starts playing like Joe Montana.
There are definitely formulas to being successful in this game, just like real football, for me its how you get there. Look at the likes of Ares (not playing right now) he consistently won in multiple leagues, taking teams that hadn't won anything and turning them into championship teams, great O, great D and great STs.
