Agree with this part...this 38/39 WR just torched my secondary to the tune of 10 rec for 202 yds.... https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/player/10817. He caught everything thrown his way and is a 38/46 pass catching. That is frustrating to watch even though NJ won.

I am good if average receivers with good hands make those catches, but not a WR with these stats.

I'll put this as an item for the next gen of the game engine.

GG Dallas,

Tried to make a game of it in the second half after your team had a tremendous 1st half performance. Offense woke up a little bit in the second half, but defense could not get it done. 4th quarter was certainly won by your team. Great job.

Well considering he is on my team now I am going to defend him.
he is my 2nd WR so that probably had something to do with his catches .
also he is my 2nd fastest WR so that also might have to do with his catches.

I looked at those 10 receptions and 2 of those 10 receptions he wasn't double teamed.

also he didn't catch 7 passes that were thrown his way.
So basically he was targeted 17 times and he only caught it 10 times which is more like he didn't catch everything that was thrown his way .

really tecra you made this comment sound like it was a close game where you had to sweat it out yet you won 59 - 13

Boxscore = https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/box/view/5074

that comment sounds a little selfish to me

I see Punisher is missing the point, speed should not be the only thing that matters for a player. The stats that your WR put up today shows that speed is possibly the only attribute that matters. A guy with 6/8 in route running shouldn't be able to consistently create separation from a good man coverage CB, a guy with 38 catching shouldn't be able to consistently catch the ball in traffic, a guy with poor bump and run coverage avoidance shouldn't be able to get off the jam at the line of scrimmage.

If you really want to compare stats....
-10 catches on 17 targets = 58.82 Catch rate (and without looking at every play I don't know if this would be higher depending on bad throws or plays where the CB knocked the pass down)
This is Deandre Hopkins territory in terms of catch rate last season in the NFL.

-202 yards on 17 targets = 11.88 yard per target or 20.2 yards per catch. In 2014 only one WR surpassed that yards per target number... (DeSean Jackson), Calvin Johnson averaged 8.55 yards per target.

Granted this is one game, but these are numbers that some elite WRs have never put up. Your WR is at a skill level to where he should RARELY get free and catch a pass, instead of being able to do it regularly, even in single coverage his attributes should suggest that it would be rare for him to break free from coverage or catch the ball in traffic.

yep this is only game and really in NFL WRS who aren't elite have a records like Willie "FLIPPER " Anderson most yard gained in a game and heck even Steve Largent at one time if I remember correctly had most yards gained in a career.

NFL records for receiving = http://www.nfl.com/history/randf/records/indiv/receiving

you can go on and on about players who aren't elite have had records and really if we were to judge the season on 1 game then really ATLANTA is going to win the Super Bowl because they have scored the most points 72 than anyone else or NEW ORLEANS will be because they have given up the fewest points 3.

heck the winless teams most likely will be Houston knowing they have scored the fewest points with 3 , Cleveland with their 6 points scored and Minnesota with their 9 points scored.

I mean what is the purpose of the playing the game if you know who is going to WIN the Super Bowl and go winless because I just told you who is going to do what knowing we are going on the basis of 1 game.

Now if My WR leads the league in yards , receptions and TDS and he even breaks every record known to man in YDS , Catches and TDs then yes maybe we should change something.

I would just hate to change something IF my WR 's only catches and only yards were in that game out of all the 16 games my team plays this year.

The difference is that those guys weren't exactly scrubs either. Willie Anderson was a good player, it just so happens that passing in general wasn't as prominent in those days. If we corralated the attributes here to a real player, your WR would not even make it onto a teams practice squad, let alone see actual game time.

GG, Detroit.

So far my new direction isn't exactly panning out. This is distressing. I'm noting improvements in my team (more rushing yards for one), but not nearly enough to make up for giving up quite a few cripplingly big plays.

I know part of it is I have a few rookies in key spots that have to play quickly into their skills, and I have several guys in the twilight of their careers, but... ****. Heh.
