Re: Rookie Camp

I thought this year there were supposed to be some real late round boomers?

Has anyone seen one?

Someone who had their future increase 10 points to where they now have a default 55 future isn't what I'm talking about.

I'll have to re-edit this for clarity, as it was a quick copy and paste from my phone, but had to share it:

2 hard busts (including my late 1st) with a few decent gains scattered in. It seems to be an overall negative rookie camp, but I'll add it up later.

Wow JC, that +1/-31 1.28 pick reminded me of my 1.19 CB bust from last season's draft. Ouch

My 2nd round pick went -16 and is unplayable. No rookie ended up over 70 after camp: https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/player/13349

Yeah. He's literally going from possible stud to cut. Craziness.

Glad I decided to skip the draft again this season.

I've got 13 picks for next season that may be on the trade block soon (including 8 in the first 3 rounds).

Outside of my luck with this draft, I agree with trading away picks for known commodities instead of getting saddled with bad contracts for busts.

I liked it.......

This draft was safer than lasts because of speed and strength being shown. Even with the big winners and big losers added to this one . No players after round five . ...still better than round three .....like all the drafts other than last season .

Higher volatility guys should have some of those speed strength slightly obfuscated obfuscated as well.

And remember he has not added the speed boost to this draft...yet.

We should be talking about speed ranges for players to work in.....and weight bonus /penalties , and what ranges to work with there.

We close to real competitiveness . ...in terms of talent pool, but all players need to be faster, and I want OTs to pummel CBs on the outside.

Pick 1.12 LB James Pomerleau
6 Vol 48/83 +13/-1

Pick 2.11 DB Donald McCasland
58 Vol 35/67 +3/+4

Pick 3.10 DB Scott Jordan
90 Vol 36/70 +10/+8

Pick 4.9 OL Cecil Kane
100 Vol 42/80 +18/+11

Pick 7.12 WR Rene Sexton
46 Vol 30/58 +7/+5

I forgot I was going to make note of the Vol before training camp. If anyone has a copy of the CSV from the draft, I'd love to compare previous Vol values.

Hard to complain about a camp like this. My 4th round pick is quite the boomer. Seems like there was more progression in general, though my 2nd round pick missed out.

This year is the first where rookies get extra progression their first 3 training camps. So, depending on how much "extra" they are getting, a player whose potential rating moved by 8 points this season may be no different than one whose rating moved by 2-4 in previous seasons.

Still interested to hear if there were any late round picks with significant increases (to a point where they could actually be a starter - not increasing 25 points to a 52 potential). I've seen plenty with huge drops, but no booms yet.

Unless someone has found one I missed I would say this experiment has been a failure so far.
