I think it sucks to have to waste a first round pick on a player with a future potential only in the 70s, and that's if he doesn't bust.

Not every player should be 90+, but there were less than a handful in this class.

Worst class I've ever seen.

I don't mind taking a mid-70s player in the first round, but for most positions, 75+ is a full time starter for me.

The player quality in draft will be a big adjustment for a lot of players, I agree. In one of the more recent allocation leagues, I traded two 1's, a 2, and a 3 for an 87 overall CB. The trade raised a lot of eyebrows, but the way I see, I'm not going to sniff a CB of that quality with any of those four picks. And the players I'm going to get with them are not going to make the same impact on my team. This is a huge change from my first full draft in MFN-19 where I took a CB that reached 99 with a late first round pick. And that guy didn't even really boom.

We'll just agree to disagree.

I think people should be able to have a reasonable expectation that their first round pick will turn into one of their better players, not just a run of the mill "starter" IF they don't bust.

I like elite to be elite. And the rest are fluff. So many one hit wonders in the nfl and so few who do it year in and year out.

I would think if you had 95 rated player you would want him to win most of the time. Not under perform and still be rated high.

There are so many effective systems that work here just like the nfl. But you don't see the Patriots filled with 99 rated players . ....they are a great team because of how there 75 rated players are used .

Here that team full 99s is winning games game in and game out no matter the plan/ approach.

The more emphasis put on more higher rating the less effectiveness will be put on other nuances this game has to offer.

But I do agree some classes/positions should vary greatly in what each draft has to offer.

Looking back it seemed 28'-30' had high 80 s being the 30th best player. The rest seemed to be low 80 s to high 70s at that point .

One thing to point out of those good draft years almost all of those players were draft before 2.6. It's seems these weaker drafts causes users to gamble a bit more earlier . ....this newest set of drafts seem to have much deeper talent pool . Allowing for less early gambles that will drive chances of getting a perennial pro bowler later.

JDB, do players have to be draft to be eligible for the late round volatility boost? Or can I sign undrafted FAs before training camp too and see if they boost?

It's drafted players only that get the volatility boost.

Beta 87 camp was quite lack luster . A few late round gems,....majority being linemen......but not much past the fifth. I had a 100 volatility db go up three. I wished to see a better jump from him. He was an udrfa, so perhaps his volatility was inflated, in veiw, but was really a 44.

Round one had 4 bad picks .

This 100 volatility db went up 13. But is he a probowler....I don't think so. Still, not bad for almost rd 6

That's a pretty big jump - it will be interesting to see how he develops over his first 3-4 seasons.

Once again TC was a huge disappointment for me.

1.13 CB -6
5.19 WR -1
6.19 RB -6
7.19 OL -4

Please post examples of some of these late round gems we were supposed to start seeing. Looks like the same old junk to me.
