It would be nice to see a tackle for loss and a broken tackle stat for evaluating .

More movement while blockers are engaged combined with more shedding and re engaging again as run blocks are held too long and look stiff at times.

Make ball carry more valuable for more cut backs.. As well a tweak to break tackle and tackle. And have a players weight carry more value for increased dragging and pushing.

Same goes for durability and stamina . ....they should be tied to density or some version of the weight of a player . A dense guy, in general with some randomness included, should be more durable and have better leverage for strength but he would fatigue quicker and be a bit slower . And the opposite for the less dense guy.

I like the idea of ball carriers / pursuit players having to "go around" blockers or engaged players sometimes. An agile guy bouncing it outside on a stuffed run.

Some delineation between a successful "grinder" and "speed" back is a goal of most of the suggestions I offered, but I like all the ideas suggested!

Make defenders attack the LoS sooner rather than going parallel to it. It's especially true for DBs. On runs inside the 5 yards line, I've seen safeties run parallel to the LoS and not make a move toward the RB before he crosses the goal-line.

I have noticed this too (not attacking soon enough). What I don't want is a return to the days where LBs immediately attacked the LOS and got swallowed by the OL. I agree that as soon as they have a clear line of sight they should move up to attack, but defenders should absolutely move parallel to the LOS. Maybe instead of moving directly parallel, you should draw a line from the defender and the down marker on the sideline and the defender should move along that line until they have a clear line of sight to make the tackle.

This is a preseason game, but it exactly proves my point that in 0.4.3 because of all the QB nerfs, all you need to do to shut teams down it run a blitz 2 defense that keys pass more than run: https://die-hard-fans.myfootballnow.com/log/1036

On the other hand, spread the field and pass medium and long most of the time still scores 60+ points a game so nothing is wrong: https://die-hard-fans.myfootballnow.com/log/1038

Let's see how this season in MFN-1 goes, but if there are going to be no changes to the passing game at all to fix the still glaring problems with coverage, then I don't think any changes to the running game are going to matter.

To be honest, eff the running game. Just do something about how the only way to win is to blitz 2 players every down. The game has gotten really old with all it's blitz 2 BS in all versions.

This play the toss left shows two pulling guards . One is slow and the other has speed and acceleration in the 60s. Both players get out real slow and run right through players on their way to no one . They should be getting out quickly and running behind and around not through guys.

If engaged players move more and blockers got out quicker perhaps these guards could have a lane to run behind the oline.

Yes the stronger/heavier player should get the push but the faster a blocker and defender are traveling at the time of engagement the more movement the engagement should have. Most engage and stop moving . Line play is not too bad at the line of scrimmage but down feild looks like they are stuck in cement.
