There are entirely too many dump-off passes to the RB's currently. In this game, my RB led all recievers in catches and yards. That should never happen.
https://nfl.myfootballnow.com/box/1878I see this as a distraction from actual problems with passing and coverage. I am thankful for the increased dumpoffs. And it isn't uncommon for a RB to lead a team in caches, dating to at least Larry Centers and Kimble Anders.
Well, let's clarify that the dumpoffs are
not the remedy for dropped passes, nor are they the remedy for completed passes into double/triple coverage. I'm pointing out this
should not have been the avenue that was taken to attempt to remedy
anything. It masks the issues in the passing game. It masks the issues in the running game. It is a band-aid and it is a terrible one. That is my point. Just consider how many dumpoffs are dropped based on this new code, if we want to argue the distraction.
You guys have made it clear already that completion percentage was terrible and the passes into coverage were still a problem. I'm simply bringing up another issue that was created by this newest code.
Furthermore, we shouldn't be discussing
anything related to the passing game in this thread. JDB made it clear that he was addressing the
running game with 0.4.4.
There's a distraction for you.
