[0.4.6] Version 3e3ee02

Pushing an update for the next set of games. I'm having the zone coverage react to a thrown pass immediately, previously all defenders had the same reaction speed randomizer.

The safety is in good position, then turns away, and finally turns backs to the play after the catch.
He is a recently converted LB with good cover skills and speed.

I think that's a rendering artifact, the renderer has him looking at the ball while it is in flight and then it changes his 'look at' vector to match his velocity once it's caught.

This is the main reason I don't really like the rotational zone plays.

Here's a good play for the offense. Good call, target , throw, catch , but the SSs responsiblity is the deep third . 95 zone , 68,,positional experience and he wanders along the hash . IRL he should try to cut off that route sooner.

I didn't put him in position to make a play but if the SS went to the sideline more, correctly covering that third of his , the run after the catch would have been less.

The wr is better , but the SS had good position , tried to make a play and ended up out of the play . His zone and punish were 80 and he had 40 positionAL experience . The wr making the catch underneath ofr even over the SS would look better .

Overall deep coverage jumping plays like that is what allows alot of yards after the catch . Our opponents played a man under defense and we played a zone under. The results for pass attempts to complete and percentages followed NFL trends when each were applied.

We went for a lower completion % and more yards after the catch, and they completeD a higher percentage of passes but lower yards after the catch. I liked that part alot, but for some reason our scores were the extreme outliers for this week and this change .

I expected alot of games to be high after watching ours, but they seemed lower that normal. That's what I thought the league and our game would be like. Lower, but not a barn burner like that!

I will come with more examples of deep coverage blowing it as time permits , but tightening up deep zone will allow for loosening coverage underneath. Only cause knockdowns/ and drop seem up still. Same with catch overs.

This play has the CB1 in the flats. He has good position but doesn't try to make a play on the ball?

This is a 2 deep man under and the SS has 54 zone. So, a lower coverage skill could cause someone in deep zone to jump the pass here, but I see it with 100 zone players too. What if they played it poorly but deeper instead? Perhaps the run after the catch could be way less.

This is a rotational zone which leaves the SS in the deep third outside . Yes, it's a good call, pass, throw and catch....and this is what the SS should be doing/looking like, but it doesn't seem like he reading the wr1 coming in to his zone. It's actually the TE running the shallow out pattern which pulls him to the outside, so he ends up being in better position to defend the deep pattern .

He has 95 zone and we're unfamiliar with plays, but I am trying to see the logic which actually gets him to defend that deep third outside correctly . Not that this one's that bad...I thought it looked pretty good

This time we rotate the zone into our favor, but the CB1 is pulled out of his flat by the wr1 doing the post. I should see a quick release by the cb1, once the pass is thrown, for him to make a play on the ball, but it looks like he continues to cover the wr1.

Really , with us being in a run key, the qb should have waited for the cb1 to come up into the flat and that post by the wr1 should be wide open.

Probably not the best call by the defense but both the SS and SLB ignore the slot until he catches the ball. Leaving alot of room for a run after the catch .
