Yeah, I gave up on running many 5 wide plays a few seasons ago. I feel the QB already holds the ball too long in other sets, good d-lines will eat up a 5 wide set more often than not.

Bah, that's sad. I was hoping someone would suggest something I'd not thought of and save the day, but back to the drawing board

Just fyi, the next version of the game engine (hopefully in general release before the real football season) does address many of the current passing issues.

I rewrote some algorithms with the passing game. I've done limited testing but am happy with what I see so far. A couple of points with this update:

* The sack where the QB runs to the sideline should be eliminated
* Offensive line should pass protect better, and the pass rush/pass block attributes should have a greater impact
* Defense Ends and Offensive Tackles, when engaged, are now also considering speed (acceleration + max speed) as the DE will do more speed rushing.
* QB passing accuracy bar carries a bit more weight than it did previously. QB's with 50-rated accuracy should no longer do as well as they have.

My limited testing indicates that this has reduced the sack rate, and the top QBs are more directly related to their ratings. I welcome your feedback as you watch the week 5 games"

Up coming in mfn1 is the ability to target a WR based on Route postion and player experience. Or that is my interpretation because we have not seen this one feature in play yet.

The game is way different. QB'S could rush for 1000 yards a season and low rated DES with speed and low pass rush are closer in effectiveness to DEs with less speed and more technique.

Any idea of a rough roll out date please? Great news though!

Well, it is the nature of 5WR sets, even in real life. The fewer blockers you have, the more pressure your QB SHOULD feel.

The difference being in real life that the QB will typically get the ball out quickly because they know they don't have the extra blockers.

Well, the QB sack at the sideline should be going away soon, so that is a start. Also, pass blocking is supposed to be getting better when update rolls out game-wide also.
Until then, I will continue to use very little, if any, 5WR sets.

Do the changes fix these bullshit plays where the QB goes to throw to a WR 40 yards down the field and instead drills the DE right in the chest? (For a game based on physics, the physics ****.) https://fakepigskin.myfootballnow.com/gamecenter/view/2070#370216

Although it was an away game so crowd noise was against me, and I poorly game planned (obviously my opponents game plan was superior since he went for every fourth down and my QB couldn't complete a pass to open receivers so he obviously had the better defense), and my players don't know the plays, and really if I would just spend more time working on my OL I wouldn't get sacked so often, and if I only paid attention to the one attribute that made QBs not complete random players any given game...

Bruh!! This was probably the worst example.
