Not every one is an understatement. In terms of measurables he had a 38 inch vertical at 6 foot 5. Along with his 40 score those combined stats are near unmatchable. Guys here are no where near the skill but routinely make those plays as long as the QB is good. That matters yes, but the level at which hieght and or vertical plays a role is not here. The only thing is courage/punish. Not to down play it but sounds like it is more for big hit in traffic. It is pure size/athletic ability which truely decides who is going to win that jump ball like Megatron did. Yes you need alot of other things but why no jumping skill. It is one reason Watt can get a record number of batted passes. Here i use punish?

I agree that it does happen in MFN too often though. lol


That last part is the key. That's an Sports Center highlight right there...not a play that happens 6-8 times in a game like it does in MFN.


That last part is the reason people hated Madden 08 , Madden 09 or Madden 10 because really that Helmet Catch by David tyree was like always happening in the game when really it should be a like a fluke chance or like 1 percent chance of happening.

That's the reason I am glad they never had creating Madden after the Catch by Dwight Clark or the reception by Franco harris or it would have been like every catch you would have seen a player make that play.

Btw I think really the odds of that play either be in Madden or here it should happen on a rare occurouce like maybe like 1 percent chance instead of 100 percent chance and maybe people on here wouldn't be upset when they see a wr catching a ball between 3 defenders .
