Let JD know if your reply button doesn't work!!

Trying to have an inteligent exchange with someone only interested in his own opinion ( That would be you..) makes no sense to me, so i leave the floor to you so you can try and act like you have something interesting or relevant to say. have fun ...

Come on guys are we really arguing over posts and opinions? Let's try to stay focused here and not cause any fights.

Just wanted to add a final thought to this thread...

I am only in one league, MFN-1, and have been there since its first season. IMO, JDB has been fair and responsive over time and has to weigh not only his personal opinion, but also the good of the game and the overall satisfaction of the owners. If any of you stay or go based on this issue, that's fine and I don't feel any particular way about that.

However...if nothing more came out of this, the awareness of all owners has increased and I also believe the willingness to come out and say something has also increased. I would have never thought to do anything like what happened and actually learned something new by this being exposed.. This thread also spawned some pretty good thoughts and ideas on future game improvements. I don't like the cheating just as many of you don't, but in the grand scheme there will be good that comes out of it.

Newby here... I was just reading through this as I saw some unusual transactions in a league I joined so I searched "cheating" on the forum. I saw that DarkRogue and I share the same league in Fake Pigskin so I checked his team. WOW.. His starters current ratings
QB - 77
RB - 97
FB - 71
TE - 97
WR - 93,87,83,82
LT - 78
LG - 82
C - 82
RG - 87
RT - 77
P - 93
K - 84
LDE - 90
DT - 85
DT - 76
RDE - 85
MLB - 80,80
WLB - 82
SLB - 81
CB - 82,76
SS - 79
FS - 75

Only 3 of those players have more than 6 years of playing time. He is still 3.5M under the cap and has these draft picks for the next draft
1st - 2
2nd - 2
3rd - 3
4th - 1
5th - 1
6th - 1
7th - 1

The team I just took over averages 8 (Minnesota) rating points per position lower than his team and has 9 starters that have more than 6 years of service. In addition I do not have a 3rd round pick in the next draft.

SO i ask, as a new owner, how am I to compete with his team? He has admitted to cheating, yet still has the best team in the league and the brightest future. People have to understand that one cheater ruins and entire league for eternity. It can't be fixed... So 30 owners have their time and energy wasted by one selfish individual. I do not wish to be in a league where he is in it, nor where he has cheated. Please pull me from this league while I research my other leagues.

That's a big accusation, why do you say he's been cheating and what has he admitted to?

First real post on MFN and figures it's going to be in this thread. I just read the entire thing and here are my thoughts - not that anyone cares what a noob thinks.

1 - Cheating in/on online competitive games tends to eventually destroy said games. Has happened often enough in my almost 35+ years of gaming (Is a 70's Pong console even considered a gaming start?!?) once online gaming came about - guess that makes it since around early 90s with BB games and then MMOs and then sports sims etc.

2 - Allowing cheaters to remain in the game is bad policy. Giving admitted cheaters a "pass" is bad policy. Even in a completely free game where money is optional. Why? Because, for instance, as of this reading I - who was going to spend my real $$ here - have decided that it wouldn't be such a good idea right now. Not if admitted cheaters are "tolerated." Sorry, just seen too many good games go to **** from this sort of official policy and I won't spent my cash on such things. But, I will continue to run my 1 team for free and see what happens down the road.

3 - The policy will do more to deter potential users - especially those who read this thread (as it changed my mind on spending real money.) It will not deter habitual cheaters from joining since it's apparently their kind of "environment." Is that a good outcome for a healthy game and community? Doubtful. These things need to be rooted out early and have harsh repercussions or else there will eventually be no one willing to pay to play vs. gamer's with a cheater's mentality.

4 - The cheater can own up (apparently, going by this thread, not to everything though) when caught. I mean it's pretty logical that such a person when caught red-handed would be remorseful (probably fake) in order to be able to continue feeding that game addiction. I mean 30+ leagues with 1-2-3-more? teams in them? That is an addiction. An addiction is fine as long as the person is honestly playing. However, allowing the cheating addict to continue doesn't help the game or community. I seriously doubt such a confirmed cheat will change stripes. - likely just saying "sorry" to hopefully get a pass and keep feeding the addiction, imo. Well, it worked.

my .02 cents spent.

Have a good Holiday season.

Welcome Toriq.

I agree with nearly everything you said. I think a lot of others do as well, except the developer.

I used to spend money here as well, but have quit doing that for a number of reasons.

It's still a good game overall.
