Welcome to the 2028 National Football League playoffs! After a spectacular regular season that saw records fall, we’ve finally come to the grindstone and the contenders remain.

In the American Conference, #1 Miami (#1) and #2 Los Angeles (A) have the week off. Newcomers Buffalo (Floydfan73) are looking to knock out perennial playoff team Tennessee (Kalispellian) while #5 Pittsburgh (trslick) is looking sharp in practice for their upcoming match versus #4 Cleveland (AI).

Meanwhile, in the National Conference, there is a battle between two newcomers: #3 Chicago and #6 Minnesota. #5 Los Angeles (N) (ramseywalton) takes on #4 Seattle for the Sunday night game. Idle this week are #1 Philadelphia (vcr5150) and #2 Albuquerque (CrazySexyBeast). Both teams are spending the week honed in on this year’s film, looking to find every edge against any potential opponent for the Eager Eight round next weekend.

With everyone around the world stuck at home and drunk on boxes of cheap wine, a record setting 225 trillion dollars - an amazing and horrific 62% of the planet’s net worth has been wagered.

By the grace of Zod, due to the monumental upset of Pittsburg (trslick) by Cleveland (24-27 OT), folks can still buy a loaf of bread with old fashioned currency instead of a barter system driven by rare elements and favors. With the opening drive in overtime, Pitt’s K Alex Alexander just could not out-muscle the 17mph winds on a 56 yarder to go ahead after a 5 plus minute drive. 3m50s later, Cleveland’s K Ethan Eversole nailed a 53 yard FG for the win.

“On to the plane” Cleveland’s HC Clyde Odum stated via videoconference from the field after the game.

In the National Conference, Seattle stunned Los Angeles (N) (ramseywalton) 13-6. Before a maximum capacity crowd of 67,000 at Seattle Stadium, LA was done in by the methodical 3 yards and a cloud of dust approach installed by SEA during last year’s offseason.

Chicago beat Minnesota 34-27 in a high scoring affair between two AI teams.

The 2028 Crown Showdown was a real hoedown at Arizona Stadium in PHX before a capacity crowd of 63,000.

They were on hand to dance in the stands as the AFC's #2 seed Los Angeles (A) and NFC's #2 seed Albuquerque Nukes (CrazySexyBeast) were set to take the stage and rock the house.

Albuquerque proved to be too much for the Los Angeles (A). Going 30-45 for 375 yards with 3TDS/0 INT, Nukes' QB Marc Danley put up an impressive performance in what might have been his last game in a Nukes uniform. LA started to make a run for it in the 4th quarter when RB Ronald Glidden painted his way through the Nukes’ special teams with a record tying 108 yard KR (https://vikings.myfootballnow.com/watch/3663#625024). On LA’s next possession, QB Ralph McClendon finished the drive with a 19 yard strike to former Nukes’ WR Marvin Nunley with 5:34 remaining in the game.

Unfortunately, it was too little and too late. With 2:53 remaining, ALB K Moises Himes drilled his 5th FG of the game and the final score stood at 43-21.

*Note: ALB QB Daniels refused to participate in in the league mandatory post game press conference, instead placing a note card with the words written upon it: "Dizzyland meeerrrhhhggg. Need more beer."

Shortly before the game, multi-industrial titan Jowhw1999 purchased the NFL managed LA team for an undisclosed cash amount..

This is the Nukes’, owned by Glitch creator Brad Slates, 4th consecutive Crown, and 5th Crown in 7 attempts since 2021. Slates bought the team in the 2019-20 offseason after it's 2-14 last place finish.
