[0.4.6] Version 85f6023a

I've updated the punt timing to get the ball off more quickly for higher rated punters in this area. I've also made it linear instead of exponential, which should reduce some of the blocks from the 60-ish punters. Thanks for the reports - please keep them coming!

Came very close on several attempts, and this one snuck through later in the game. Mid 80s snapping and timing

100 timing. Also came close several other times.

I checked last night and saw that my update didn't compile correctly and so didn't get distributed to the game engine server, so the last games were still on the previous version. Let me know what you see in tonight's games.

Beat LT Raul Randall on the inside, then RB Samuel Cammack on the outside. They wound up double teaming CB Walter Erdmann, following from the LB position.

Same scenario. Both in the first quarter.

Punt timing 73...

My 95 speed guys got real close several times......maybe that one point of speed Lutz has makes a difference. I think punters with real low timing, like using an out of position player, should take a on a blocked kicks 2 out of 14 punts. Not a 73 timing punter........the real problem is the db running right by the tackle, but catch to kick was a bit slow from tests a while back. So, messing with timing sounded like the simplest fix. And with perhaps just me and you testing this exploit with the fastest guys is a small sample.....still nice work tarq!

I've got my full punt block line-up going. IIRC, I've only had one player other than Lutz (OTL) get one here since we started two seasons back.

Don't forget to factor in experience. Both our guys have been doing this a while.

It's the Internet. 50 guys would rather be *****s than actually solve a problem. Whatever word you substitute for ***** is your business. ;)

LG Howard Wolfe (SP51, ACC69) kept Lutz under wraps all night. Maybe it's an experience thing for the punt line, because it seems like a typical uneven matchup to me.

Several other guys got close, but no blocks. I could shuffle the lineup to be unpredictable, but I'm thinking it may be better for testing if everyone knows where my best guys are.

... and the Giants got 7 the hard way.

The Giants punter had 100 timing.....thats seems like the best defense to stop the punt block. We faced a 97 and got close several times but a bit further away than the 86 timing guy last game.

There probably are other factors at work but perhaps there shouldn't be in this senerio.

I have been shuffling my guys due to injury but i try to put my fastest at RDE first then RDT followed by LDE and last the LDT.

I meant Wolfe kept Lutz under wraps, i.e. he wasn't getting penetration. With the other guys that did get through, timing could have been a factor.

Something about Wolfe and/or this version actually made him do his job against a classic punt blocker, while his teammates on the line struggled. That makes it worth looking at.
