I sweated that one out. The game said I had already locked a playoff spot, but I'm pretty sure I hadn't. Now we'll have to repeat the win against the Bengals to continue.
Btw, are the tiebreaking procedures up to date? I'm asking because the division title apparently came down to strength of victory in the North, so just wondering.
About the schedules, though, I did catch they don't work like NFL schedules do. Is that a first season thing?
The tiebreakers don't have quite as many layers as the NFL tiebreakers, but you have to go pretty deep before it goes away and the ones it doesn't do are extremely obscure (and really hard to write an algorithm for). The clinching algorithm actually goes through all the permutations of the remaining schedule to see if it's possible for a team to be eliminated, although it's possible that if it falls to the strength of victory that could fail.
I'm not sure what you're asking about the schedules, are you referring to the playoff schedules or the regular season schedules? There shouldn't be anything odd about it being the first season (other than there was no previous season to determine what teams were in what place for the divisional games). What are you seeing that's not what you were expecting?
