I used to do that exclusively. But I was trying a new thing: moving experienced players down the chart so other players can gain more position experience. I might have to re-think this experiment.

If you do it like that, you need to keep the fatigue settings higher I guess and play starters 4 quarters, so that the actual starters are buried far enough down that they won't see playtime.

But then you don't get conditioning on them, no?

This is my injury list heading into my wildcard game. To save you the trouble of counting, that's 2 on IR, 1 Doubtful, 6 Questionable and 11 probable, about half of which shouldn't be active.

i looked at that team and i looked at each players contract and my findings

5 years has 5 players injured
2 years has 5 players injured
3 years has 4 players injured
1 year has 3 players injured
6 years has 2 players injured
4 years has 1 player injured


so with that maybe if people made sure each player of theirs had a 4 year contract maybe they will see fewer injuries.

Man alive....I don't think I'll ever complain about my teams' injuries again.

A great example of why we need better injury management. This amount of injuries is extreme and I doubt many people can show these amounts, but as you say; heading into playoffs. In my head, that means only 4 weeks left of the season. So why can't you (we) put players who are injured for longer in some sort of injury designation that allows us to sign someone just for the rest of the season, an injury tender or whatever. I don't know what it should be called, but imo it's injury management we lack, more than having reduced amount of injuries.

Juggling injuries, playing with the health of players SHOULD be a headache we have from time to time. Not only "Oh no, my best OL man got injured, that sucks!" but legit "He's injured 7 weeks, there's max 9 left of the season, he COULD come in and play in 3-4 weeks again as probably... Should I A or B?"

In the wild card game you played like 15 guys almost every possible snap of the game. That is a recipe for injuries and not in line with nfl snap counts per position . So, why not get higher injury rates ? With some luck you can do it all season long in the nfl but not with as a dozen players at once for that span.

I have trouble keeping dbs, rbs and linemen in line with nfl snap counts , but I set my depth chart way different than you. Only to prevent injuries from overuse, but I am still within a few percentage points away of the nfl snaps .

Sometimes dbs and RBs are hard to keep healthy if you want them on the feild as often as the nfl does . 80% of offensive snaps and no special teams snaps for rb. And 90+ % defense snaps for DBs with less than 10 % or no special teams snaps.

Using fatigue levels and depth charts I probably could get more than 20 guys injuried, but whats the point of that. I messed with fatigue seasons back and maybe its time to revisit it. I think this is a great example of how not to set a depth chart and manage fatigue(unless there is a bug setting fatigue levels) to prevent injuries, and it's very close to AI's model.

Still, I wonder about dline...I have set their fatigue into the 30s and seen little difference in who actually subbed when compared to 50...really I want to set each individual players fatigue . It would be safer than burying them in the depth chart and add another layer to the game.

And don't get me started on who should be active or put on IR. I get decent snap counts, injuries and stats every league and season I am in, but i am never expecting an Ironman or hall of famer ever. Outside of qb . ..

Fatigue has been set at 50 for every position all season. The injury clusters started early so backups had to play more than normal. Around midseason, I struggled to put 46 healthy players on the field, and that has continued through now.

I put the max 2 players on IR and signed free agents to fill in. Concerning the high snap counts from the WC game, I'm unconcerned. Perhaps the injured guys couldn't go? Perhaps my AI coach is a heartless tool?

Divisional round likely won't be much different. 14 non IR players on the injury report only leaves 39 healthy.
