First,

I've never had a problem with the injuries in the game and you can verify this with Smirt, Greg and many others because it does annoy them.

With that being said, something has to be done because it's become an issue for so many that it's taking the enjoyment out of this game.

As much as it would be great if this game/sim was super realistic in every aspect....its not and probably never will be.

The design and structure of this sim just cant support double digit injuries per team.

Preseason

NFL teams has 90 players on the roster and can easily sustain some early injuries with so many bodies. NFL players are each independent contractors that maintain their conditioning year round through personal training, personal chefs and advanced recovery methods. The very idea that a vet needs playing time in preseason games is quickly becoming a hot topic in the NFL as some teams like the Rams and Eagles play almost no starters during the preseason.

In the NFL, during the season have a 7 player practice squad and put mildly injured or healthy rookies they want to develop on injured reserve. Philly suffered an injury to QB during the preseason and convinced someone to come out of retirement....we dont have this option either.

This game can support a max of 8 injuries per team and should be capped. Anything over 8 and we are no options unless someone is hurt significantly enough to put on IR. We have strict rules while the NFL has someone hurt for a month with 2 games to go can be put on injured reserve.

There has to be injuries in the game but as league admin in 5 leagues.....that's all I hear about anymore and I'm sick and tired of it.

Ultimately this is a game where a vast core of owners own 10 or more teams which keeps plenty of leagues spinning. Injuries have gotten to the point where owners are not having as much fun as they get frustrated in league after league trying to field a team come gameday.

I get the realism arguement but let's face it, in a game where our rosters are limited to 60 and 53 as compared to 90 and 60 in real life it's far from realistic. DTs get converted to safety and FBs get converted to LG is unrealistic. Ray converts his TEs to Centers during the end of season spin so they wont retire. I dont think Tony Gonzalez ever did that unless I'm mistaken.

In a league where running quarterbacks make up a quarter of the league.....our QBs never run. In a league where the passing game has become more wide open then any time in history we have maybe 2 or 3 long passes that work.

You want realism....every draft 40 speed RBs and WRs litter the draft board. Name one such player I'm the NFL EVER...Having skill position players that slow is nonsense, they dont exist in the NFL and no NFL front office would waste his time scouting a WR or RB that cant outrun offensive or defensive lineman with ease.

I'm asking, no I'm begging you to throttle back in injuries. I'm completely done when it comes to hearing about them because this thread is the smallest of examples of this discussion. The same talk happens in almost every league forum and chat room.

We get it.....everyone has lowered the fatigue settings and built deep rosters to create a healthy rotation at all the positions but the injuries keep coming constantly and in clusters. Nobody is asking to remove injuries, we all get that too, it's part of the game but let's allow the owners that spend hours building their teams to get to enjoy those teams.

I dont have any more answers for the 150 owners in my leagues so I vote

It was also Preseason Game 1, so there was no "fatigue" coming into the game.

There is a low amount of conditioning going into Preseason Game 1, which is a primary factor in injuries. You need to gradually get your players more playing time through the preseason to build their conditioning, and be sure to have 60 active players (unless your cap doesn't allow it).

You may have done that and still had the injuries, but in general if you go through preseason with that strategy you will avoid most injuries.

I am glad JDB posted this, because I have been doing things exactly backwards—playing my starters three quarters, then two quarters, then one quarter. My logic was that I wanted the lowest chance of injury at the point closest to the start of the regular season.

Injuries are why I try to keep 60 players in camp ... if somebody gets hurt, you want to be able to start a 68 overall sub in Game 1 instead of a 48 overall sub.

A fatigue setting of 10- 30 for bigger guys is a better recommend range , and 30-50 works for smaller guys. Don't forget to not play big guys on special teams, consecutive snaps, with low conditioning and with a prior injury . Hes taking a 50/50 shot at another serious injury even with only 10-20 snaps a game .

I vote for a change in the fatigue logic. To see what that does first . I don't want 400-500 touches/ 2000 to 3000 all purpose yards from 15 players a season because of another nerf put in by just lowering injuries . Cluster injuries will still be here but less and smaller guys will be too tired.

Let's call it a hot fix if you want to vote for lower injuries rates. It will make a people happy but it won't really fix the problem . Which could even be simply the longer sustained drives coming with styles played under the 4.5 code

C'mon Ray, wheres the realism when we are forced to play all our starters in preseason because we only have 60 players compared to the NFL that uses 90 until the end of preseason

This isn't the 50's where camp and preseason was needed to get players in shape. They come into camp in shape with a few exceptions
