Is the AI going to sign players instead of using my roster to fix these issues? I just checked after reading this post and it looks like a TE was signed to be a long snapper in Cincinnati during the training camp sim. I likely would have cut the DB anyways so I’m not upset at losing him but why is the AI going to cut and sign instead of just governing the depth chart ie use the players already on the roster like it currently does when it has to reorder the depth chart.
I had six players with higher long snapping scores and seven who rated higher at the long snapping position above the player who was signed so I feel like signing a player just to put them in at long snapping can’t be correct
It should only sign players if you are short for the position - but I'm making some changes to the logic so it's not as aggressive, as I agree that it was too aggressive last night.
I recognized my depth chart was changed when watching the game but can't comment on how much was changed. I mostly want to ask if there is a way to get these changes to only happen at the specified positions so that my whole depth chart is not changed and only players are added to positions, if possible

One of the adjustments I have made is to only have it update the positions that you don't have enough players in. It was way too aggressive - I'm still working on it, it may not be ready by tomorrow and if not I'll delay the game sim until I feel like it is.
1. Check your roster and ensure that you have enough players to fill all of the depth chart positions, using the position change matrix as a guard - this should prevent signing a second Center if you already have enough other OL to cover the depth chart 2. Only update depth chart positions where you do not have the minimum number of players in those positions. It will use the position change matrix to fill out those positions as well.
Let me know if anyone sees something that contradicts this expectation!
Here's a question. I've got 10 OL, 2 at each position, and one was significantly injured today. If I have him inactive, I'm short at his position. Can I just put one of the other 4 backups in the spot (he would then be "counting" for two different positions)? When starters are pulled (since this is preseason), I won't have a full O line. I imagine it will just continue to play a starter to fill it out, but is it going to also mess with my depth chart?

Same for me, THE AI MANAGER IS ****!! PLEASE JDB, CAN YOU AT LEAST MAKE THE AI MANAGER NOT KILL ROSTERS???!!! 1. starters should not be cut, useage and stats should be included in cut decisions for roster and cap compliance. 2. custom weights should be used if in place, not the standard default weights. 3. Players that are deactivated during pre season should not be automatically considered for cuts.
I just had 4 players cut that should not have been. 1 DE Burns 2. RG Basher 3. QB Pursel !!! 4. WLB Wagner .... all four important starters for Denver. Now I have to try and resign off of FA, it is extremely irritating. This was caused because the 60 player limit was exceeded, as I had four new players contracted, but did not have any time to make the necessary cuts myself, there was not interim sim, no warning of roster overload.

Interesting. I’ve never seen the AI balance the roster during the midweek sims, only during game sims. What happened sounds like an unintended bug but when the game makes cuts for you, assuming they’re not cap related, it has alway cut the lowest rated players on your roster. Is that what happened?

Still more roster fun happening every Sim. On top of that, I wouldn't even know where to begin on what a pathetic joke the entire game was today. This garbage is why this community won't grow.
JDB, please post publicly here an explanation of why the Sim signed a DT and cut a CB for me today. Also, why my severely injured LT was activated on me and played, and several key rookies were deactivated when I wanted them to play.
I thought for sure the shenanigans were behind us, but it continues. If you care the slightest bit about this community, you need to study my game from today, understand what happened, and take steps to ensure nobody gets screwed like this again going forward.
