[0.4.5] Version 8683448

Just made a simple change to tie knockdowns more toward the defender's punish attribute. Moving the times it does not result in a punish to a drop (as opposed to a completion).

All right, folks - tonight is the second week on this latest update. We only have two full weeks left before the playoffs, let me know your feedback - do you all feel that this is in a place that we should release it to the other leagues? Or are there still breaking issues?

I think it's close. There are a few things that still stand out in not so good ways.

1) Too many "dropped" passes on longer passing plays by wide open WRs. There is no way of telling if "dropped" was the WR dropping the pass or if the QB wasn't accurate with the throw on these plays either.

Passes over 10 yards seem overly difficult to complete. I'm not sure why that is or if others are seeing the same thing. Here's a good example from my game: https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/9295#1693427

The RB has mid-50 catch, but he made all of the ridiculous backfield catches look easy all game and then drops an easy TD catch? I don't buy it.

Here's another example. The WR is interfered with, but he breaks free and makes a play on the ball only to drop it: https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/9295#1693344

Again, if that's an actual drop, then I don't buy it.

2) These bad pitch plays are still around: https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/9295#1693478

3) There are a lot of these wildly inaccurate throws: https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/9295#1693333

At least there are fewer of these now than there were.

It's been a while since the last time i saw an awfull pitch.

There are a lot fewer inaccurate passes, and they are less inaccurate :)

Just a note, I don't think the inaccurate throws are completely unrealistic. Even the GOAT has bad throws https://ftw.usatoday.com/2018/11/nfl-patriots-tom-brady-decline-stats-inaccurate-throws. I think that young guys should have more of them, but even the best QBs are going to have the occasional bad throw or miscommunication.

If some guys cannot throw deep to wrs this release will get similar feedback. We have thrown one bomb (+35 in the air) all season under a short medium passing scheme. 4 long passes last game 7 yards total. Granted it was out of 5wr sets where the wrs can't make it to the first cut at 15 yards by the time pressure makes it to the qb.

Still, I would almost always take a release over the current code. Tweaks for another season would be nice. End route senerios , qb scrambling /throwaway , qb reads, knockdowns and INTS are pretty big question marks for me.

Really I wanted to see this code in rival for preseason game 1.

I had a theory about why the QB's throws we are seeing are "more off" than previously noticed. Could it be because defenders B&R is much better under the current code, thus slowing down the receiver at the line, and the QB is throwing to where the receiver should be in his route?

I beat a 13 speed 100 man 15 bump cb deep once only because safety was in position and jumped the route bad and whiffed big. Nothing real deep vs. Alot of eight man fronts. But I was able to complete them, but only one was 40+ yard in the air . Most passes to wrs were 12 to 25 yards in the air .

Perhaps other dump coverages are bugged like this one . Making it easier to dump it off as that seems high

https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/9307#1695617

These two things are the worst for me as the dink and dunk vs. Stretch the defense balance is better but I think big armed guys should throw a handful if not more 40 + yards passes in the air.

Trying to isolate long ball senerios has highlighted plays being called outside of my plan . Not out of the book but out of gameplan settings . On offense it happened in hurry up mode and for the firsttime I saw the defense call one play out of gameplan as well. That one was vs. A two point conversion

All things aside, by just looking at all the year end stats, they keep getting closer and closer to resembling real world stats. Which is a good thing. Now how we got there is prolly a pretty complicated story. With jdb tweeking and tweeking from all the feedback is really starting to show some good signs.
