Overall I’ve liked the passing changes. It feels much better to see my QB push the ball downfield and it certainly looks closer to real life passing game with my QB taking 10, 15, 20+ yard shots downfield instead of the dink and dunk passing styles we’ve had for most of 4.6.
Some plays felt unusable to me but I’ve just realized that the depth chart governance keeps playing injured OL so I’m just going to let the season play out. My stats scripts also need to be remade given the changes to the download csv so I don’t have any data to back up my gut feelings.
Frankly I think any meta change for the engine will be a welcome change assuming we’re not missing anything
As an aside, have you changed scripts to use the api?

I have not used the API yet. I really just updated my download script to use the correct URL since it seems to have been changed and then found out my parser would take enough changes that it makes sense to rewrite it

Anomaly or concern? In the past 17 games, both sides, offense and defense there was zero interceptions in our games. Perhaps we are just playing conservatively?
Granted, offensively we are getting a large percentage of our pass yards by successfully throwing medium passes for big YAC.
And defensively we are playing a heavy zone blitz which is near the bottom of the team leaders in nearly every statistical category so why not interceptions too?

Comparing our halfway point to another league's last full season, XFL to be specific, it does seem like the interception numbers overall here are way below the pace XFL QBs were on. Part of the reason imo is that it looks like QBs are actually able to throw a receiver open. I think we might need to adjust it in some manner though because owners will only get better with play calling the longer they have access to it and as more concrete data starts pouring in

Current season there are only Houston, Tennessee and Jacksonville with zero interceptions on both sides

Interceptions are definitely way too low. I think that's enough to delay the update.

Yup, I've only thrown two picks this season so it's clearly broken.
If more passes medium / long get completed, then that will reduce the interception numbers, but shouldn't eradicate them. If the pass completion % numbers look good, especially for medium / long passes, then getting the interceptions rate back up can't unduly undo that or back to square one.
I'd doubt that increased pass completions directly explain the interception reductions, what are the stats like for pass breakups/knockdowns and QB throwing the ball away? Are those increased to the detriment of interceptions?
Could it also be the case people are avoiding formation / personnel / play combos that historically have led to higher chance of a pick?

What’s interesting is that the knockdown numbers for defenders compared to another 16 game season, again using XFL, seem to show that the knockdowns are not hugely affected. If anything there might be an argument that we’re going to have higher numbers than them so defenders seem to be in positions to make a play, they’re just not intercepting it

More completions means other categories would have a decrease - % wise anyway, numerically I'd guess people are throwing more to test.
I'm wondering if interceptions have dropped as QBs imo feel like they are throwing the ball away under pressure than taking the sack / forcing the pass. Wondering also if there's an element of the passes being more contested (so off player able to prevent the pick) due to say pass rec courage?
Top CB with ints has 4 - that's a guy with 33 pass catching, so you'd expect him to be able to make the plays.

I've slightly increased the probability for a defender to make the interception - let's see if we have some more interceptions in the week 10 games.
