It does prove the original thesis that long pass plays were filled with short dump-offs. |

Longer passes need more time for O Line to block / QB to prolong play for it to develop. Would be interesting to see distance in air stats for different passing types. |

I was working on a new parser and while it's currently incredibly basic(only values it has is the play avg and times called for a play) I do have an excel document for those who want to check it out. I'll be updating my parser until it has more features than my old one and will keep uploading the excel files it generates but I don't have a time table for when I'll have another file. I will not be updating this after every game spin. The file currently has a little over 10,000 times called stored for 129 different passing plays.

The biggest benefit from this code change regarding long passes is not that we still cannot throw long passes, especially in spread sets, it’s the QBs choices when he’s not deciding to throw long.
Now after they decide to redistribute the pocket they either throw it away way more, throw to receivers coming back from deep routes or tuck it and try to run. Old codes a lot of my long passes would result in negative play averages in the game planning section while in the offensive plays tab. Where now I have less long plays resulting in negative yardage. IMO, all this ties to too good of coverage. Or I am not valuing speed enough on the outside. And/or sacks and knockdowns are high. I like where hurries are at but a rookie DE is on the pace to shatter the NFL sack record. While my players with a heavy zone defense will be lucky to hit double digits. Same for them when regarding knockdowns. Still, teams that play a heavy man defense will get triple the knockdowns compared to zone and double the pressure. Overall, IMO, medium passes are the real winners of this code. Next, my heavy zone defense has ONLY allowed 2 passes over 50 yards with a long of 58 and a 38 yarder as the 4th longest pass allowed. These numbers show that it seems the 70-80 yard passes can be nullified some. Also, there was a game between gdad and loan. Both teams blitzed over 50% of snaps in combination with a super heavy man under defense. “The golden formula to win here”. As expected, both teams struggled to run, but Gdad did something interesting. He barely ran the ball. Resulting in over 300 pass yards and a win. The CB beat most had 77 speed. I wish it was more like 400+ yards but…. |

Focus for me is going to have to be O line.
I don't dare go a 5 WR set. Finding blitzing is still way too op, stuffs the run and O line just can't cope. EDIT: I'm also thinking now my QBs not mobile enough to extend the play. Guess I'm QB hunting this coming draft.

Something is very seriously wrong. It seems as though defensive talent means nothing anymore. I have an exceptionally talented (and fast) defense that was 1st in both comp % and yds/attempt allowed last season for good reason. They are now getting torched beyond belief. I'm having receivers constantly catching ***** 5 to 10 yards behind my deepest defender. Seriously entirely broken.
Edit: you can't say b*lls?
