Except in blocking for oline ?.....or strength is used in the push part. There has to be a difference in a 175 pound lineman and a 275 pound linemen. What would be the point of having big linemen? And small DES have been nerfed.......what was changed there. Bye bye 3-4 effectiveness . .....this whole thing is sounding in complete . Please explain what is the point of being a larger player is? Blocking .....Running . ......defending vs the run ?

I think you're looking for a simpler explanation than really exists. Strength is used in the blocking algorithm in a strength vs strength comparison indiscriminate of size; size is used as well, but not part of the strength section of the calculation. The entire blocking algorithm takes a composite of many calculations and comparisons to determine what happens.

I'm assuming the calculations consider it's harder to push around a 320lb guy compared to a 250lb guy of equal strength. I'm sure there are other factors too, such as acceleration and of blocking vs pass rush or run defense.

I was looking for the complex explication . As it is clear I do not know how it works, but what I do know is as a player loses weight it is similar to saying he less successful in certain situations vs a player that is heavier . The only reason I ask is cause pass rushing favors heavier players unless it is a blitz .

Typically a lighter player would be more prone to injury or wearing down from hits too in real life.

Here are a few things I have noticed so just throwing it out there. The safety [2 point kind] seems to be out of whack with reality. In 1 and 86 I have seen my or the other team give up 2 plus in a game. While it can happen I don’t think a team giving up multiple safety’s in a game is very realistic. I also think the total amount of sacks is to high [ I know this is a constant debate] Finally it seems like a team making a first down on a third and long [ more than 10 yds] is something that happens outside of what I would think being the normal statistical range. Just my 2 cents.

Everything you said, ccsahara, I have also noticed.

I will go one further...increase in penalties. Since the release of 4.1, I have noticed (a hunch really, without researching) that there seems to be more penalties. These penalties also seem to be happening more at very unfortunate times...like a touchdown called back by holding, a made field goal (especially a made 50+yd that turns into a punt after the penalty), a great run, a caught long pass (the penalty is after the catch is made and happens 20yds behind the play).

Again, I haven't really compared the total penalties with those of 4.0, but it does seem like there have been more. Anyone else notice a difference?

In mylast game, the sack total amounts to 24 (12/12). I was trying my second QB, still with 82 int., he took a lot of sacks waiting to throw, and two safeties.
My previous game had a lot of sacks too (i was playing my first string QB)
