Re: Pass & Run Blocking Updates

Zone was bad....many busted coverages by elite players, but better ?

Run was ok.....looks stiff until the plays are abused.

Pass I saw too much time for QBS and his INT seems strong,....blitzes here made my QB very inaccurate but neither qb was that far off the mark on long plays, in comparison . ...I saw several easy wide open ones missed for no apparent reason by both QBs.

Play abuse looked more like the early games...if you abuse it you will lose. I will note wars game. As he had the lead from abusing plays but then lost it because of play abuse. My run game was almost not existing then it was big play after big play. Overall it was the best it has, looked but games will get out of hand when plays are abused.

Still, my one or biggest complaints is who what or why some guys get to the QB and why some dont. The guy with higher stuff should look good, but I was seeing some real wierd stuff going on in passing plays.

Fixing zone problems is most important but a DT basted two or three guys back in to the QB then the QB look as if he wrestled the DT for a bit trading tackle and missed tackles interactions all within a few seconds before a laser completion down field.

It reminds me a bit of the old passing game. No effect from pressure at all from blown blocking assignments....yeah blitzes are getting there and coverage is forcing sacks but the simple blown block makes up an equal amount sacks

Most happen under 3 seconds . ..perhaps a boost to the Edge rusher as mine had some cover sacks later but so did my slow DT. All were cover sacks....sacks coming after 3 seconds.

Don't get me wrong I like the pass blocking alot as I saw a few actual pockets form!

What Ray is seeing and what I am seeing in terms of pocket formation and pass block could be a difference between our OL. Except for my C, my OL has 100 actual or potential pass block across the line. The C has like 88. (I didn't look Ray's OL.) I had a pocket on most of my plays, and in a short passing game, I only need that 2 to 3 second window to throw the ball.

The times that my pocket got busted were by blitzing LBs or a DT finally overpowering my weakling LG after a few seconds. I can live with both of those.

To be clear, there have not been any zone updates pushed yet, I hope to have something by either the next game or the one following.

Cincinnati is putting up over 700 yards of offense per game, I'm not really sure what to make of that but it feels like the passing and running games are almost unstoppable for my team at the moment.

The DT has 7 less speed and 70 more acceleration with about 20 more strength. Pass block was to the CenterS advantage by a little .

Its acceleration with a little strength . ...add In the slight weight advantage as the DT was a bit heavy .

Add in 12 QB runs and that is 273 pass plays with 3 sacks.
