Pushed a couple of changes that will be in sims starting tonight:

* Improved DB coverage and M2M technique
* Imreased QB rushing probability
* Fixed DB knockdowns
* RB routes should turn upfield more properly

Please pay close attention to RB passing and QB completion percentages. I've been noting some interesting things in alpha, but I'm still working on getting rosters that better mimic some of the beta and released leagues, so I'm not sure what is causing what yet.

It looks a lot better, especially the sack problem and DB play. It looks like more passes are successfully contested.

Here is one bad zone play by the safety resulting in TD

I haven't watched any of the games yet, but here are some notes.

Notes from Beta

1) Sacks were down appropriately. Teams with good pass blocking gave up fewer sacks.

LA did give up 8 sacks: https://beta87.myfootballnow.com/box/1183

But looking at the LA game, 5 of the 8 were against GL passing plays. This is something I have noticed lately, GL passes give up more sacks. This is explainable because GL defenses stack so many against the line and blitz.

Fewer sacks benefitted pass only teams like JAX, who dropped back 80 times without getting sacked and completed 43: https://beta87.myfootballnow.com/box/1186

JAX had 11 passes to RBs that were effectively runs. I'll take a closer look at the RB passing in this game later.

With these pass only teams, the solution may be to adjust the fatigue clock for pass blocking. I don't want to change the pass blocking algorithms for all of the other teams. I don't know though. Will have to think about this one.

2) QBs don't appear to be running the ball still. Or they are running like v.0.3.9 - 3 carries for 0 yards.

3) In some games, Interceptions appeared to be up, and in some games, they appeared the same. I'll have to dig into it and find out if there were any differences with DBs, etc.

4) Completion percentage look close to what I expect right now. I have some thoughts about, but I need to look at more alpha data before putting them down.

Can you elaborate ? Fatigue clock?

Pass blocking plays until fatigue. But that's probably not the right solution. Like I said, I was thinking it through. Not sure I have a solid suggestion yet.

Basically, right now, you can have a team that has five 100 Pass Block guys and pass every time without the threat of being sacked. The solution to that is probably going to have to make things like Intelligence, Discipline, Strength, and Fatigue matter more in the blocking interactions.

I do like other factors coming in to play ...like fatigue and nimble feet , but generally a taller (longer wing span ) and leaner player (better endurance and quickness ) would fair better at pass blocking , saying both had 100 technical skill.

I like Intelligence on stunts or picking up blitzes

Discipline ...I think wouldn't be the best choice

I like strength matter some .......especially vs strength ( bull rush) but really see its value in the run game .

Any player with a Pass Block rating of 100 should very rarely give up a sack.
Therefore, if you have 5 OL with 100 Pass Block you should have a very low chance of getting sacked, regardless of how many passes you attempt.

If this is not the case then there shouldn't be an attribute called "Pass Block".

While I agree in theory, it does oversimplify player interactions, which is something that JDB has explicitly stated he does not want to do.

That said, I'm fine with how pass blocking is working right now.

Ok, broke down my game vs. Ray. Overall, things feel a lot better. I'd feel comfortable shipping this to everyone else as is. Looking across this weeks stats, things seems nicely balanced.

I have only one remaining concern, but I'm convinced I happen to have a gameplan/playbook that found this quirk and it's not a massive issue. RBs seem to be targeted on swings out of the backfield before the receivers routes have time to developer.
https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/7494#1352288
The QB isn't under pressure but just throws to the RB right away for minimal gain.

I love when the QB dumps off to the RB under pressure or when everyone else is covered or when it's the primary route. Those are working really well now. I'm not sure how to take those without having this type of play though. Maybe have a QB that's not under pressure wait a beat longer before dumping off to the RB. I had 17 or my 41 completions to my #1 RB this game, and I'd say half are from this issue. The most I see around the league though it 6 completions to a RB, so I think I'm an edge case.

Another example - WRs are coming open over the top of their defenders but the QBs already thrown to the RB. 3rd and long even.
https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/7494#1352305

WR at the bottom of the screen is open, but hits the HB. QB may not have seen that receiver though.
https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/7494#1352313

Other plays of interest:

Visual bug where the QB is facing backwards.
https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/7494#1352222
Also curious why the QB made the decision he did on this one. He threw to the outside WR as he cut, which ended up working, but was not clear cut, as opposed to the TE who was open the whole time and clearly also in his field of vision.

https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/7494#1352243
Bummed the QB didn't throw the to the RB in the middle, but glad to see the DB make this kind of play on the ball.

This is the type of play I wish DBs would win more. He sure looked like he had good coverage until he didn't.
https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/7494#1352251

I like this. Similarly skilled WR and DB. DB use to almost never get the advantage on this. Now much more even throughout the game.
https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/7494#1352265

Bad throw by the QB? WR makes what looks to be a great break to get open, but the QB throws it to the wrong spot?
https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/7494#1352266

Another nice play by a DB, but the QB should have thrown to the slot receiver who was wide open and in FOV.
https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/7494#1352269

Not sure what happened here. Throw away?
https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/7494#1352287

Odd coverage by the DB. Looks to have a great edge the whole way then doesn't make play.
