A quick glance at lellow game vs. SF wold be a great game to look at closer.

Lellow a great owner blitzed 80% of plays with a pass key. He's got a good but not elite defense and he played a majority of cover 1 and got great results .

Sf had a very good line qb and very good recievers . Possibly better than lellows team but was held to a 57 qb rating. Only one interception but in general it seems they out played them. Mostly a base offense plan benefited lellows strategy as sf never forced them to use lesser quality dbs by spreading out feild.

Alot of those blitzes were out of base defenses and an elite CB1 and elite dlineman were the benefactor . Perhaps line play suffered due to the extra guys coming vs. Longer passes. Sf could have called more short passes as his qbs arm is not bad but not elite .

His blitz counts looked near ten but we're probably closer to 5. 50 blitzes dispersed between 10 different blitz calls(with a pass key) sounds to be very effective . Game planned well as the FS was put in zone but was the only defender with below 80 man cover skill.

Still, perhaps sf plan was a little vanilla . Run on 1st and second down then pass long. Kinda easy to plan against .

Like I said, this was a quick scan of a few things. The log and player player matchups. I didn't watch it to see what really happened . Sf is good and young but that 80% blitz plan cover 1 with a pass key is my glitch plan I was testing for seasons now. Just without the coverage on 3rd and longs.

So, imo blitzes are still to powerful (boosting playmakers) or qbs are just to dumb to beat it. It would have been nice to see sf put up 20 points or so . Not a few fgs as the blitzes began to be penalized late in the game.

I would look at infinity s plan as well but his dbs are even better as I know he blitzes alot as well (I think)

Infinity played seth.

I think this game was a better representation .

Infinity s defense is pretty legit as far as dbs go. Seth qb is young but he spread it out and mixed up play calls and timing .

Looks like infinity passed deep alot as seth kept it short and the score was close. Seth did have a great oline but with elite dbs infinity should be able to handle seths better than average recievers .

Infinity s blitz counts were within the nfl numbers at 55% so looking at this game I feel even better about the code.

Once again this was a quick glance but I like what I see .

Another positive that came along with the latest changes is that the throw at/ catch alloweds have normalized. More accurately reflecting past seasons numbers . Well at least in 87.

Fully blown coverage, but the QB doesn't see it. Pretty obvious read, in think.

The defensive play on the field doesn't match the diagram, resulting in a big gain.
https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/8069#1463745

I saw great blocking on the gunners, which is new.
Overall it looks good., better than preseason play, and i liked the game.
Still, there are some horrible reads by the QB (my qb is elite and has 100 FOV). No throw in triple coverage, but wide open WR in the middle of the field are not seen.

I watched my last 87 game finally and I didn't see anything glaring.

However, looking at the scores in the MFN-1 week 1 suggest how badly outmatched defensive talent is. This is something we have known for awhile (that offensive players are overgenerated and defensive players are undergenerated), but man, it's going to be Madden all over the place when 0.4.3 is released, which I guess is good for most people.

Scores in MFN1 are a little tricky to judge on. There are so many elite QBs in this league as has been discussed, that you really never see a bad starter. Secondly, I think there will be a period of adjustment for defenses. There are certainly plays that I use to run that I can’t anymore with the new code. QBs are much better at finding the uncovered receiver and pass rush isn’t as disruptive as it use to be. So I’m feeling confident good players will adapt and we’ll see scores come down some.

Zone is most likely be to blame along with db talent pool. You always see a 70 rated wr in FA but not so much a 70 rated db. Like I commented early TES are over achievin or lbs in zone don't work well.

80 is a good man cover skill to have as a minimum . Right now.

80 pass block is a minimum right now as well. 100 Pass block without mobility seems to be a liability too. My 1 team torched torched to olinemen with 60 pass block last game , but I have a pretty good Dline with three to four legit pass rushers. Romero just killed it.

QB can't complete 25% of his passes in a short passing system.

Opponent runs the same Nickles blitzes over and over and over again doesn't get penalized and wins by 20.

This game is just getting better and better: https://beta87.myfootballnow.com/log/1766

---

Here's a good example of why 0.4.3 is still unplayable. The CB that stands around and does nothing on this play has 50 M2M. He might as well have 0: https://beta87.myfootballnow.com/watch/1766#321997

Here's a better one. The DB is 5 yards behind the play and makes an interception: https://beta87.myfootballnow.com/watch/1766#322004

The return of the mystery knockdown!!! Yes, now, I'm done watching tape: https://beta87.myfootballnow.com/watch/1766#322010

That nickel blitz play overuse is definitely a problem. I don’t think you can judge the QBs performance with that in play. Plus, it was a rookie QB in his third regular season game. I bet his play knowledge is minimal still.

Those individual plays you flagged don’t seem out of line. Unfortunate but unless they happen all the time, hard to say it’s anymore than bad luck.
